Priyamani refuses the history movie
“We were initially assured by Priyamani and her manager that she would work in this film. We were even asked to pay the advance. But were informed later that she did not want to be a part of the project”, Naganna reportedly said.
Trying to find out the reason behind the “sudden decision” of the actress, he added: “It is not a glamourous role and may not be a complete commercial flick as the story deals with history and happenings”.
Meanwhile, Priyamani’s second Kannada film, ‘Eno Onthara’ with Ganesh will be released shortly. Her trilingual ‘Raktha Charithra’, directed by Ram Gopal Varma, is also getting ready for release.

Suriya joins Priyamani in Bollywood
The news is out. Suriya and Priyamani will be launched in Hindi with ‘Raktha Charitra’ by Ram Gopal Varma this year. Priyamani will play opposite Suriya, who is playing the role of Maddelacheruvu Suri in the film, a romp through the saga of Anantapur faction feuds. The much-publicised film sees the couple, along with Vivek Oberoi. Vivek Oberoi plays the role of Paritala Ravi and Bengali actress Radhika Apte is doing his wife's role, Paritala Sunita.
The prestigious project, which RGV regards as the most important film of his career, is proceeding at a brisk pace. A two-part idea, the film is expected to hit the screens later this year. A real-life saga of power politics, factionalism and more, the film has been mired in controversies as well.
‘Raktha Charitra’ will be made in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.
With two big names making their debut in Hindi with the same film is big news, Add that to Vikram who will make it in Hindi with Mani Ratnam’s ‘Raavan’. The year is going to be too good for Kollywood in Bollywood.

Priyamani's next project is glamorous role
After playing a housemaid Thulasi opposite Srinivasan (Dhanush) in the much-acclaimed offbeat Tamil film Adhu Oru Kana Kaalam (2005), National award winning Priyamani will once again team up with director Balu Mahendra in his new Tamil film to be produced by an NRI Sri Lankan.
If Balu Mahendra's Adhu Oru Kana Kaalam had Priyamani portraying the role of a girl next door, his new film will have her in a glamorous role, it is heard. This yet-to-be-titled film will introduce a new face as the hero.
Cinematography will be handled by Anwar, a gold medalist from the Pune Film Institute. Music is by Balu Mahendra’s favourite Ilayaraja. This film is expected to start rolling in November 2010.
Priyamani is currently busy with five films: ace Mani Ratnam's Tamil and Hindi versions of Raavan, Master (Malayalam), Saadhyam (Telugu) and Eno Onthara (Kannada). Her recent releases are Raam (Kannada) and Shambo Shiva Shambo (Telugu).

Priyamani says good-bye Tamil movies
It seems Priyamani isn’t too happy with the way Kollywood is treating her. Even after her national award? Yup. Apparently after her first few failures in Kollywood, and after being branded “unlucky”, she got her chance at Paruthiveeran and she aced the role. But that award didn’t do what you would expect it to. Instead of getting her encouraged, it discouraged her. She said that it was Ameer who did all the work and made her act, and feared that she would be branded again as a classical actor and wouldn’t get enough roles. Her father/ manager decided to change things, and they made an album of Priyamani which showed off her curves and herself in a different view that what we’ve all seen. Not very fatherly, but a damn good managerial move. This got her quite well off into Tollywood, where she’s done a fewmovies and made a few impressions. It also looks like she’ll be getting into the Mallu Film industry because of her connections with Prithviraj. She has also said in interviews that she isn’t happy with Kollywood because it didn’t do justice to her curves. She looks like she’ll do quite well for herself in the future. Just don’t expect to see her in too many Tamil movies.

Priyamani's next goal is award
So for a change I am acting in this film. This film is about the three seasons in the heroine’s life. Because of this I will be appearing in three get ups. I am acting in this film for the sake of the people who ask me that how can award actresses can act in commercial films. Though Jagapathi Rao is the hero of this film, his portions are less. In future I will be accept films which has scope for acting.”

Priyamani: No more auto travel in Bangalore
If you were an auto driver and actress Priyamani asked you for a ride to her house, what would be your reaction? Obviously, after taking a few moments to get hold of your wits, pinch yourself to check if you were awake and gasp in astonishment several times, you would obviously welcome her warmly, decide to take her autograph, remember her residence, and bask in her reflected glory! Right? That’s precisely what’s bothering Priyamani now!
Priyamani, who lives in Bangalore, was not quite as well-known there as she is in Chennai. Hence she could shop anywhere she wanted and travel around by an auto with no worries. However, with her Kannada debut Raam releasing shortly, she fears her days of normal life in Bangalore are numbered. She is confident in the movie’s success and hence feels that people would now start recognizing her in Bangalore too, so she will be mobbed by fans, which means she just cannot casually take an auto and go shopping or head back home from a manic shopping spree!
