Priyadarshan says that he is a Fan of only 2 people

Versatile director Priyadarshan, in a recent interview to a national daily, has said that he is a fan of two actors - Amitabh Bachchan and Farokh Engineer. He, however, pointed out that no one can beat Mohanlal when it comes to versatility.

The director has, probably, for this reason worked with Mohanlal in 27 films thus far.

He is now directing Aakrosh, a Hindi film which has Ajay Devgn and Akshay Khanna in the lead. This is first Hindi film with an original script., i.e., not adapted from his Malayalam film.

Priyamani follows Trisha's food steps

Priyadarshan who introduced Trisha in the Hindi film is also now introducing Priyamani in a Hindi film. Trisha became an actress because of Priyadarshan. Priyadarshan who introduced Trisha in the Tamil film has also introduced her in the Hindi film. Trisha made her debut in the Hindi film Khatta Meeta produced by Akshay Kumar.

The film was released and is doing well at the box office. Because of this Trisha is in cloud nine. At this point of time Priyamani is also going to Bollywood. She will also be introduced by Priyadarshan.

She is acting in the film Bullet Train being directed by Priyadarshan. Ajay Devgan and Sunil Shetty are in the lead roles. There are two heroines in this film.

One is Samira Reddy and other heroine is Priyamani. Priyamani in the recent days is rocking with her glamour outfits. She is ready to rock with extra glamour in Hindi films. A tough competition is expected as far as glamour is concerned because Samira Reddy is there.

KHATTA MEETHA- Movie Review

Corruption is rampant in many countries today. No work is possible without chai paani (bribe). Everyone must have experienced this ubiquitous nuisance. KHATTA MEETHA, a remake of the 1989 Malayalam drama film, VELLANAKALUDE NADU (which was again directed by Priyadarshan) is a satire on this perpetual menace. While it was a novel issue back then, it’s been done copious times over the years.
Sachin Tichkule (Akshay Kumar) is a struggling road construction contractor in a small town who has taken loans practically from the entire village. But he still manages to wear sunglasses! Trigun Fatak (Manoj Joshi), Sachin’s brother-in-law, is a corrupt chief engineer who works in the municipality. Suhas Vichare (Milind Gunaji) is a road contractor married to Sachin’s second sister. Anjali (Urvashi Sharma) is Sachin’s college-going sister.

While Sachin struggles through his never-ending woes, things go haywire. A bridge collapses because of bad construction, taking many innocent lives. Figun, Suhas and others who were involved in the construction, conveniently pass the buck to Vishwas Rao (Tinu Anand), who is a driver of the Tichkule family and later kill him. Azad Bhagat (Makrand Despande), who has lost his wife and son in the bridge mishap, is determined to bring to justice the criminals behind the scam.

The common man’s troubles remain the central plot of the film. As if Sachin’s miseries weren’t enough, the new municipal commissioner turns out to be his ex girlfriend Gehna Ganpule (Trisha) who now loathes him.

The successful director-actor jodi of Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar (HERA PHERI, BHOOL BHULAIYAA, DE DANA DAN) fails to entertain this time. Priyadarshan falls short to render the issue of corruption, which Rajkumar Hirani did effectively in portions of LAGE RAHO MUNNABHAI. It has the right intent but offers nothing which we haven’t seen. The screenplay gets monotonous with Sachin Tichkule constantly borrowing money, his numerous tiffs with Gehna, perverted acts of Rangeela (Rajpal Yadav) and random songs
.

That a corrupt politician has maintained a file of all the wrong doings of his accomplices including himself, is inexplicable. It’s ludicrous to see Azad Bhagat easily getting inside a politician’s house and stealing important documents. The climax is too convenient to grasp.

There are a few laugh-out-loud moments like the one in which the road roller rams through Gehna Ganpule’s house or when Karodimal (Asrani) is attending countless calls at the same time. But that’s just about it.

With an excruciating long running time of 2.40 hours, the film drags. Music by Pritam except for the song Nana Chi Taang, is very poor according to his standards. Only V Manikanandan’s choreography is neat.

Akshay Kumar’s comic timing is impeccable but he is very loud. Trisha, who makes her Hindi film debut, is passable. She looks too young to be a municipal commissioner! Urvashi Sharma is decent. Johny Lever, who is seen after a very long time, is uproarious. Wish we could see more of him. Rajpal Yadav gives a superlative performance. Makrand Despande is effective in his small role. Manoj Joshi is impressive while Kulbhushan Kharbanda is good.

KHATTA MEETHA isn’t sour or sweet. It’s simply bland.

Akshay Kumar feels bad on Trisha

The Hindi film Khatta Meeta in which Trisha is doing the female lead role is all set for release. Akshay Kumar is doing the lead role. Priyadarshan is directing this film.

The publicity campaign is going on in Mumbai. It is habit of Bollywood stars to participate in the talk shows, trailer release and giving interviews. But Trisha did not participate in the publicity campaign. She is camping in European countries for the shooting of the Kamal starrer Manmadha Ambu.

It seems that Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan are upset because of this. This is Trisha’s first Hindi film. Akshay Kumar said,” This is Trisha’s first Hindi film. It is her duty to reach the film to the audience.

She has become so irresponsible.” Akshay Kumar has already signed Trisha for two of his films. Now Akshay may sign someone else in the place of Trisha.

Trisha's Katta Meetha releases date is July 23

Trisha has completed her first film in Bollywood under the baton of Priyadarshan. The film ‘Katta Meetha’ is all set for release next week and the director is upset with his heroine now.

Promotions are the make or break element in the success of Bollywood films recently and toeing it Priyadarshan has made elaborate plans for the promotional activities of the film releasing on July 23.

But all his plans may lose the steam as the heroine of the film; Trisha will not be available for the promotions. Trisha is in Europe shooting for the K S Ravikumar-Kamal Haasan film ‘Manmadhan Ambu’. It’s unlikely she will leave the Kamal film for Akshay Kumar.

It may be remembered that Asin went all out in the promotions of her first Hindi film ‘Ghajini’ along with Aamir Khan. But it seems only Akshay Kumar will have to occupy the space of Trisha on the promotional chart of ‘Khatta Meetha’.

Trisha's Khatta Meeta shootings is near to end

Trisha’s ticket to Bollywood ‘Khatta Meeta’ has been successfully completed now. The cute belle of South Indian film industry isn’t a new personality in B-town as she has already done more commercials and acted in music albums before a decade itself.Making her debut with Priyadarshan’s ‘Khatta Meeta’, the actress has justly done her best job winning laurels amongst the crewmembers. Indeed, Akshay Kumar has signed her up for other couple of films, which will take off shortly.Trisha started shooting for this film before 5 months of time and Priyan took a long time as he has been filming three projects simultaneously at the same time. Naadodigal remake in Bollywood

After initial hiccups, looks like Naadodigal is finally on its way to be remade in Hindi. Latest news claims that production company Woodpecker Pictures & Entertainment bought the rights of the film from Global Infotainment.

Priyadarshan will direct the Hindi version of Naadodigal; the title and other details of the movie are expected to be officially announced soon. It’s also learnt that the movie will hit the screens for Diwali this yea

Reema Sen has signed on the dotted line

Reema Sen is one happy chick these days. And there’s good enough reason for it. She has signed on the dotted line and will be soon seen in a Priyadarshan film in Hindi.

After getting rave reviews for her performance in Aayirathil Oruvan and the film turning to a hit, Reemma is yet to sign any new Tamil film, though the actress is going through a fine comb with all the scripts that are coming her way. She will soon be doing a film in Kollywood, says a source close to her.
This Priyadarshan film is a hard-hitting tale of an actual incident that happened in Bihar about an inter-caste romance with lots of realistic action scenes. It has Ajay Devgun and Akshaye Khanna in the male lead with Bipasha Basu and Reemma. The shoot will be in Karaikudi which has been given a Bihar village look by art director Sabu Cyril.

Trisha selects only three language to act

Trisha she will be acting three respective films in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages. While speaking about this to the media, she said,”
The shooting of the talkie portions of the Hindi film Katta Mitta directed by Priyadarshan is over. Only three songs are to be shot. The shooting of the Telugu film Namo Venkatesa is over. Recently a song sequence for this film was shot in Bangkok.
Shortly I will be pairing with Ravi Teja in a Telugu film. I will also be acting with Kamal Haasan in a film to be directed by K S Ravikumar. I was supposed to act with Kamal in Marmayogi.
But I was sad because the film was dropped. But now the sadness has gone. I have planned to act in one Hindi film after this. I will be acting in three films in three languages per year.”

Shriya has been chosen as the best actress

The popular daily Mathrubhoomi has been announcing the awards for the best actor, actress, film, director etc., every year. This year’s awards have been announced officially recently.

The Priyadarshan-directed film Kanchivaram has bagged the best film award. KS Ravi Kumar has been awarded the best director award for directing the film Aadhavan.

After going to Bollywood, Trisha has got a new friend. Akshay Kumar is her friend. Both are seen joking and taking at the shooting spots. This is the hot topic in Bollywood.

Trisha while speaking about this said,” I will be very jolly in Priyadarshan unit. Akshay Kumar became very friendly within few days of his introduction. I have signed three films to act with him. I will be acting with him until next year end. He is a jolly good type.

He will always be smiling. He use to crack jokes and make others laugh. The whole unit will be jubilant if he is present. But once he is before the camera, you cannot see this Akshay Kumar, he will turn into the role that he is doing.

I thought Hindi actors will be boastful but Akshay is just opposite of what I thought. Rumors regarding me and him are being spread because he speaks very affectionately. When I told him about this, he told not to bother about this since this is a common thing here. After this I was not bothered about these rumors.”

Trisha - I will not leave Tamil cinema

Trisha while sharing about Bollywood experience said,” Priyadarshan was asking me for a long time to do a Hindi film. The time has come only now.

He is the one who introduced me in Tamil film. Now I am happy that I am acting in the Hindi film directed by him. I am acting with super star Akshay Kumar in my first Hindi film itself. He is a very jolly good type.

He will be going on cracking jokes at the shooting spots. My second language was Hindi in the school. Because of this I am able to speak Hindi fluently. Akshay seeing this in the shooting spot asked me to dub. After the first day shooting, Priyadarshan called my mother over phone and praised my acting. I am really proud about this.

The first schedule of the shooting will be completed by 23^rd November. Akshay Kumar is producing this film Khatta Meeta. I am also been signed for three other Hindi films produced by Akshay Kumar’s production house.

Some other hero will be pairing with me in these films. Other details are yet to be finalized. Many are asking me whether I am refusing Tamil films because of Hindi films. It is not so. I have given three months call sheet for this film.

That is the reason for not accepting Tamil films. Nobody can separate me from Tamil films. I am popular today because of Tamil cinema only. Next I will be acting in a Telugu film with Junior NTR. I will also act in Tamil films.
