Prithviraj speaks about Superstar Rajinikanth

Prithviraj says that Rajnikanth is the only bold person who goes out without make up. While speaking to the media, he said,” Rajni is not scared of anything. He likes to be himself without make up. He is bold because his fans adore him for his roles alone.

So far no other actor has earned fame and name like Rajnikanth. In my younger age I know Mammooty and Mohanlal. They were close to me than Rajni. I grew up in their laps. But they have not appreciated me about my films so far.

Rajni is not like them. Now I also remember one thing. I was shooting for the film Gorki at Kozhikode. When I got up at 5.30 am to do my exercises I saw that there were 23 missed calls from a Chennai landline. I thought it was too early to call back and went to do exercises. At 6.30 a m I got the call from the same number.

I picked the phone and the person who spoke to me asked whether I was Prithviraj. When I said yes, Rajni spoke to me directly. He appreciated me about my scenes in Mozhi for nearly 45 minutes. I was stunned. From that moment my respect for Rajni escalated to great heights.

Rajni is the only person who goes for the public functions without make up. People will not accept if Mammooty or Mohanlal come out without make up. Even big actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor and Chiranjeevi are coming out wearing wigs. Rajni is the only independent person who is not scared about anything. No other actor could have gained the people’s hearts like Rajni.”

Kamalini Mukherjee's desire and Dream

Kamalini Mukherjee has expressed her desire to wield the megaphone. “It’s my dream to direct a film. Though my concentration at present is on acting, I would direct a movie in the future,” she says.
The ‘Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu’ actress, who is making a comeback in Tamil film industry with ‘Kuttrapirivu’, a movie starring Srikanth and Prithviraj in lead roles, says, “I am learning the nuances of directing on the sets of each and every movie I act.” On ‘Kuttrapirivu’, she says, “I play the role of a college girl who becomes a school teacher after completing the studies. I had to come out with two different body languages since the role demanded it.”
Saying she is currently doing a guest role in the Telugu remake of ‘Aptha Rakshaka’, a sequel to ‘Chandramukhi’, Kamalini adds: “I don’t find anything odd to do guest roles. Why should I bother as long as my character gets enough importance like the one I did in Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu?”

Priyamani in the Raavan movie offer

Priyamani recalls that she was excited when Mani Ratnam called her to his office to narrate the storyline of Raavan and her role in it. When the director offered the role to her, all that he wanted to know was how good her Hindi was. When Priyamani replied it was quite good, the director called one of his assistants to converse with her in Hindi to test her linguistic skills. Satisfied with the accent, Mani offered the role, she gushes.

Interestingly, Priyamani also bagged another Bollywood offer soon after this. It is the Ram Gopal Varma’s Raktha Charithra.

Sheela jumps glamour roles in Tamil films

Sheela while speaking to the media said,” In Tamil films I got homely and innocent roles. Though these films did not do well at the box office I had carved a niche for myself in the hearts of my fans.

At this point the Telugu film Parugu was a great turning point in my career. After this I am pairing with junior NTR in a Telugu film directed by V V Vinayak. In another film I am acting ia film which has Nayanthara in the lead role. I am donning glamour role in this film. In a song sequence I am wearing swimming dress.
The shooting of this film is over. The film is to hit the screens soon. Many are asking me  whether I will do glamour roles in Tamil films. How can I say no when I am acting in glamour roles in Telugu films. In Malayalam film I am pairing with Prithviraj.”

Priyamani says good-bye Tamil movies

It seems Priyamani isn’t too happy with the way Kollywood is treating her. Even after her national award? Yup. Apparently after her first few failures in Kollywood, and after being branded “unlucky”, she got her chance at Paruthiveeran and she aced the role. But that award didn’t do what you would expect it to. Instead of getting her encouraged, it discouraged her. She said that it was Ameer who did all the work and made her act, and feared that she would be branded again as a classical actor and wouldn’t get enough roles. Her father/ manager decided to change things, and they made an album of Priyamani which showed off her curves and herself in a different view that what we’ve all seen. Not very fatherly, but a damn good managerial move. This got her quite well off into Tollywood, where she’s done a fewmovies and made a few impressions. It also looks like she’ll be getting into the Mallu Film industry because of her connections with Prithviraj. She has also said in interviews that she isn’t happy with Kollywood because it didn’t do justice to her curves. She looks like she’ll do quite well for herself in the future. Just don’t expect to see her in too many Tamil movies.
