Mysskin's advices to assistant directors

Thambikkottai is a film which has Narain, Poonam Bajwa, Prabhu, Sangeetha, Vijayalakshmi, Santhanam, M S Bhaskar and Kanja Karuppu in the cast. The audio launch function of this film was held yesterday in Sathyam theatres. Actor Arya released the audio CD which was received by Jayam Ravi.

Director Mysskin who participated in this event said,” Lot of assistant directors should come into Tamil cinema. It is a healthy thing for them to think that they should give a hit film. They should also come forward to give quality films with good stories.

If only quality films come then only we can clean the dirt here. When my first film Chittaram Pesudhadi was released, there were only 8 people sitting in the theatre on the first day first show. Narain also felt bad. Next day 16 people were there and again on the next day there were 32 people and finally the theatres were full. When I made Anjathey I told with full confidence that this film will be a hit. It was a hit as I said.”

Jayam Ravi, Arya, Narain, Prasanna, M S Bhaskar, Bose Venkat, directors Jayam Raja, Sargunam, music composer D Imman, lyricist Vivega, cinematographer T Kannan and producer R B Chowdary participated in this event and spoke.

Producer R K Suresh welcomed the gathering while director Ammu Ramesh proposed the vote of thanks.

Asal releases on February 12

Ajith’s and Sivaji Productions Asal which was scheduled for release on February 5, has now been pushed by a week to February 12 as per trade reports.
Sources close to the development say that Sivaji Productions feel that Asal, should release big with as many prints as possible, as the film has the potential to be the biggest opener of the year.
Added to that the buzz is that Sivaji Productions Ramkumar and Prabhu, went out of their way to give a free run to their 'Annan' Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya’s maiden film Goa scheduled to release on January 29.
And when the producers mentioned it to 'Thalai', he was more than willing to delay the release by a week. It clearly means advantage Goa, as it will give them one more week to run without facing any stiff competition.

Ajith has done dual roles in Asal

Ajith has completed the film Asal. So far we knew Ajith as a hero, but in this film he has worked in the story, screenplay and dialogues department. When asked him why, he said: Instead of keeping quite after acting, I wanted to show some interest in the film I am acting. I have worked with director Saran and screenplay writer Yugi Sethu. I thank Shivaji Productions for recognizing me as a technician and for giving me this opportunity.
About Asal?

This film has action, romance, sentiments and comedy. The father –son concept is very important in this film. This is the fourth film I am working with Saran. There is a good understanding between us. This has helped in creating this film in a good way. Samira Reddy and Bhavana are the heroines of this film. Prabhu, Suresh and Sampath are also starring in this film. Important scenes were shot in France. These locations will be fresh for Tamil cinema. As far as I am concerned a good film does not need publicity. Asal is one of such films.
Are you doing dual roles in this film?
Yes. Saran was wondering who would be suitable to act in a role equivalent to mine. I told him I will do that role also. Saran was satisfied with my other get up.
What is the highlight of the film?
There are lots of matters. Audience will feel that while they watch the film. I have seen Prashanth, the assistant of Nirav Shah while shooting for Billa. I wanted to introduce him as a cinematographer in this film. When I told this idea to Saran, he agreed. His camera work will be one of the highlights of this film. Bharadwaj’s music is also one of the important factors in this film. I like the song Yengay Yengay very much. The reason is because in my personal and cinema life lots of people have stabbed me in the back. I can feel that pain in this song

Ajith silenced in Asal

Asal

Director Saran, known for making films with a difference, has tried something new in the Ajith starer Asal. Sources in Kollywood say that Ajith’s dialogues in the film are not more than two pages. No, this does not mean that his role is cut short, but the actor will convey the emotions mostly through his eyes and facial expressions. This has indeed created a huge expectation among Ajith’s fans.

Asal has a strong star cast including Prabhu, Suresh, Suhasini, Sameera Reddy and Bhavana. The film is slated for Pongal release.
