A R Rahman who is much exited about the Hindi remake is making all new tunes for the Hindi version. Most of Gautham’s men like Anthony, Rajeevan, Nalini Sriram and Manoj Paramahamsa will work on the Bollywood project also.

Nadunisi Naaygal shooting processing

After the roaring success of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, ace director Gautham Menon is currently busy with his quickie thriller Nadunisi Naaygal, which means midnight dogs!

The director is busy wrapping up the last schedule of Nadunisi Naaygal, which is expected to be released soon. Starring Sameera Reddy and Gautham’s assistant Veera in the lead roles, the film narrates a series of events happening in a night and its duration will be 90 minutes.

“Nadunisi Naaygal has no songs. In fact, this movie does not have a background score! It’s a little experimental that way. I’m just telling a story and there are thrilling moments, bizarre and poignant moments in it, but all that should come across with the actors, dialogues and sound effects,” Gautham Menon said recently.

Suriya replace Ajith in Thuppariyum Anand heroin Amy Jackson

Now that Ajith and Gautham Vasudev Menon have parted ways from doing a film together, it is said that the filmmaker would now make the movie with his favourite actor Suriya as the protagonist.

“Gautham likes to work with Suriya very much and he feels that the actor would suit to any kind of role. Hence his next choice for the project, which is a thriller, would obviously be Suriya”, say sources.

Tentatively titled ‘Thuppariyum Anand’, the film is set in pre-Independence era. “It is about a detective who zeroes in on culprits involved in sensitive cases in his own style”, sources in the know maintain.

One more interesting buzz about the project is that Gautham Menon has signed British Model Amy Jackson, who played the lead role in ‘Madrasapattinam’, for the heroine role. “His favourite cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa is busy doing research for the film”, sources add.

Gautham Menon and Trisha make magic again in VTV hindi remake

Trisha is getting ready for her role in the remake of the Tamil blockbuster Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa in Hindi. Directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, VTV enchanted the audience with its music and the sizzling hot on-chemistry between Trisha and Silambarasan. In fact, the pair is being touted as one of the best on-screen couple in Kollywood. Though Trisha had earlier performed a variety of roles, her oh-so-lovely character as Jesse in VTV was her best effort till date and earned applause from fans and critics as well.

With her latest movie Khatta Meetha with Akshay Kumar having a decent opening, all eyes in Bollywood are on this pretty damsel. To be paired opposite Prateek Babbar, son of veteran actor Raj Babbar, we all wonder if Gautham will be able to create the same magic on screen as he did in VTV. Prateek Babbar has already won the Filmfare Special Jury Award for 'Outstanding Performance' for his role in Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Na in 2009. So we will wait and see how the chemistry of this pair sizzles on the silver screen.

Tabu says no to Gautham Menon

It is well-known that Tabu and Gautham Menon’s association dates back to his assistant director days. The actress was the heroine of Kandukondein Kandukondein and Gautham was the assistant director in that film. Gautham is currently directing a thriller with debut hero Veera and Sameera Reddy. This film has a very important role and the director had approached Tabu to play that role.

Tabu had agreed to star in the film and requested the script of the film. When she came to know that her role is miniscule, she is said to have rejected the offer.

Sameera Reddy says being single is very boring

Sameera ‘hottie’ Reddy was in Chennai recently to shoot for Gautham Menon’s next flick and she had a taste of a thriller when most of the shooting was done at night. She enjoyed them even though she is not a night bird she admitted.

Gautham’s quickie is an edge-of-the-seat thriller and Sameera plays a character called Sukanya. On the recent controversy on her not being a member of Nadigar Sangam to do films in Tamil Sameera clarifies that registering with the Nadigar Sangam was the first thing she did when she got her first offer in Kollywood. She says she is a member of Nadigar Sangam even before her first mega success ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’.

On the personal front Sameera is still single and the pretty babe feels the status of being single is very boring at the moment. That’s some food for thought.

Sameera Reddy: My Vaaranam Aayiram role is better than Ajith’s Asal movie role

Sameera Reddy has made a daring statement! She has reportedly told some press reporters that her fans appreciated her role in the Suriya starrer Vaaranam Aayiram better than Ajith’s Asal. According to the actress, though her role in VA, as Meghna, was very minimal, her fans had liked it and admired it. Sameera adds that she intends to work in projects that offer her such roles rather than go on a signing spree.

The actress is currently working in a Gautham Menon project, which remains to be titled and has a couple of other language films.

Ajith's 50 th Movie Heroin is Samantha

With so much being talked about the proposed Ajith - Gautham Menon flick, the movie is also showing signs of going on the floors. Last heard on the script front, the movie will have Ajith playing double roles - one that of a cop and the other a villain. The movie is already speculated to be a cop movie and with this added piece of information, looks like it will be an action movie as well.

Earlier it was said Sameera Reddy will play the female lead but now we hear that Samantha, who played Trisha's role in the Telugu version of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa will be signed up. More details awaited.

Gautham Menon definitely directs Ajith’s 50th film

Denying reports appeared in a section of the media suggesting he may not do Ajith’s 50th film, Gautham Vasudev Menon has said he is ready with the script and is eagerly looking forward to start the project with A R Rahman as the music director.

“It’s ridiculous to deny something which I had never said. I don’t know how someone quotes me with something I didn’t utter. Ajith clearly said in the beginning itself that he could start working for the project only after completing the races. So I am waiting for him,” the film maker told a Tamil weekly.

Gautham, who said that some were badmouthing his movies saying there was lot of English usage in them, added: “I am portraying reality in my films. Can I show city-based lovers talking chaste Tamil?”

Stating that he might even stop doing Tamil films if this trend continued, the director further added: “I want enough freedom to make the movies I like. I would like to bring international cinema to Tamil audience.”

Trisha will play Vinnaithandi Varuvaya Hindi also as Jessie

Trisha's graph in Bollywood is on upward swing. The pretty actress will debut in Bollywood with 'Khatta Meetha' opposite Akshay Kumar. She was particular about her debut and did not accept any other film in Hindi until she completes ‘Khatta Meetha’. Now that the film is almost over and Trisha has accepted her next big offer.

We knew Gautham Menon will be directing block buster 'Vinnaithandi Varuvaya' in Hindi and was looking for the right producer. Many top Bollywood producers from Rakesh Roshan, Balaji to Vashu Bhagnani were trying to buy the Hindi remake rights of 'Vinnaithandi Varuvaya'.

But the rights have now gone to the biggest bidder - Ambika Hinduja's Serendipity Films that recently produced ‘Teen Patti' starring Ben Kingsley and Amitabh Bachchan.

The cast has not been decided though Prateik Babbar is being considered to play Silambarasan’s role and Trisha will play ‘Jessie’ in Hindi also.

Gautham wants to use the same tunes of A R Rahman for Hindi as well but the BGM will be reworked again for Hindi as the story is set to happen in Goa instead of Kerala.

Gautham Menon, who had earlier directed the Madhavan-Dia Mirza-Saif starrer, Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein, was going slowly on his Hindi offers. He even refused to direct ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ in Hindi which is now being directed by Nishikant Kamath.

Sameera Reddy once again joins Gautham Menon

Sameera Reddy won the hearts of millions in the South with her tantalizing performance as Meghna in Suriya's Vaaranam Aayiram. She was later seen in Aasal opposite Thala Ajith. Now the Bollywood babe is working on a film directed by Gautham Menon.

“It’s a youth-oriented thriller and an edge-of-the-seat entertainer. It’s quite experimental in terms of treatment and characterisation and it’s something Gautham has never attempted before. I’m not going to spoil it for you (or run the risk of incurring Gautham’s fury; just kidding, he’s a real softie). Here’s a hint, you’ll be going in with certain expectations, and then, bam, it hits you point blank -- that’s the way the film is constructed,” she said to a leading English daily.

“About my role, I’ll tell you what I am not. I am not the average bimbette or the damsel in distress who goes scurrying for help. I can rave about my character long after the credits have gone by and that is saying something,” she added.

“I’ll be returning to Chennai to shoot for the movie in June and I am so excited thinking about it. I can hardly wait to see how Gautham plans to take the story forward. Rest assured, you guys are going to have a rollicking time, so just hang in there,” she revealed.

Cheran speaks about Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya movie

Director-actor Cheran said that Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya was a not a crowd-puller during the first week of its release. Speaking at the audio launch of Virundaali, Cheran said that Gautham Menon was concerned that VTV would be thrown out of the theatres with not enough crowds pouring in during the first week. However, word of mouth from the audience had pushed the film to an astounding success. Cheran rued that if theatre owners decide to pack off a film within a short time, then it is the filmmakers who would suffer. He added that movie buffs will also miss a chance to see these films in theaters and opt for DVDs.

Reacting to this, the Producers’ Council president Rama Narayanan said that plans are afoot to form a commission to discuss such issues.

yes
Mr. Gautham, I'm a big fan of yours. Does all your movie reflects a real life story? or your own imagination?
partly both
Will you repeat Trisha for your Ajith film? She looked awesome in VTV!!

Do you believe in the concept of 'true love'? Do you think two people who are not together and never will be, could still be in love?
yes yes
Hi Gautham, am great fan of ur films. why do u always have upper middle class characters in ur film? Is that bcos u grown up in Anna nagar ?
yes
Congratulations on the success of VTV! When you start writing a script, do you already have the whole picture in your head or do you simply go with the flow? When you started writing VTV, did you know how it was going to end, or was it a conscious choice?

Vivek Oberoi likes Trisha

Vivek Oberoi is currently busy promoting his film Prince. Speaking to the media persons, Vivek said that he would lap up an opportunity to work in a Tamil film. He added that Tamil film directors Gautham Menon, Mani Ratnam, Bala and Selvaraghavan are topnotch and he would never miss an opportunity to star in their film.

Vivek says that he likes Trisha among the South Indian actresses. With the lady venturing into Bollywood, he feels that an opportunity to play her on-screen pair is not far off.
