Sundar C is at his familiar territory again
Besides wielding the megaphone, Sundar also plays the lead role. Anuya of ‘Siva Manasula Sakthi’ and ‘Madurai Sambavam’ fame is the heroine. The film is produced by Avni Cinemax (P) Ltd, a banner owned by Khushbhu, wife of Sundar.
Music of ‘Nagaram Marupakkam’, composed by Thaman S, will be released by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi in Chennai on Monday evening. Kamal Hassan will receive the first copy of the audio from the Chief Minister at the function to be presided over by Tamil Film Producers Council president Rama Narayanan.
Sundar last directed Rendu, starring Madhavan and Anushka. He stopped calling the shots ever since he became a successful actor with non-stop releases like ‘Thalainagaram, Veerappu, Sanda, Ayudham Seivom, Thee’ and ‘Aindham Padai’.
“I chose to direct a movie again because I don’t want the director in me to take a back seat thanks to my desire to stand in front of the camera. The decision to make a sequel to Thalainagaram was because the film was a turning point in my career and the story had the potential for a second part,” the actor-director says.

Sundar C is disappointment
Earlier on producer and director of Guru Sishyan, Sakthi Chidambaram withdrew from the fray as two films of the same actor releasing at the same time may not bring the desired results to either of the films. And Vaada was the sole contender and theatres were also booked for the same. However, due to financial issues, Vaada also will not be released today. The dates will be announced soon.

Due to the efforts of Sundar C and other people producer and director Sakthi Chidambaram has now agreed to postpone his Sundar C- Sathyaraj Guru Sishyan from April 16 to May 7.
It gives the long in the making Vaada directed by A Venkatesh a mass masala entertainer with Sheryll Brindo in the female lead a decent three weeks gap.
The film produced by Mohan Radha of Screenplay Entertainment, the film has Vivek doing a tribute to yesteryear comedian Suruli Rajan. Khushboo would be doing a special song appearance with her husband.
Vaada is targeted at B and C audiences, and distributors are hoping it does well. The director of the film A Venkatesh is confident about the films success as he feels after seeing the first copy that he has got his mix right.

Santhanam replaces Vadivelu in Guru Sishyan
It was initially publicised that Vadivelu’s performance would be one of the highlights of the film. However, Vadivelu opted out of the film, alleging that no scenes were shot on him even months after the commencement of the shoot.
Following this, Santhanam has inducted into the team by director-producer Shakthi Chidambaram; music is by Dheena. With Sundar C. and Sathyaraj in lead roles, the film, though inspired by the title of a Rajinikanth hit, is not a remake. Guru Sishyan does have a remix song 'Vangaonn' from Bhadrakali.

Vadivel walks out of Guru Sishyan
Vadivel has walked out of another film, due to ‘salary problems’.
The comedian has said that he will no longer be a part of the Sathyaraj- Sundar C mass masala entertainer Guru Sishyan, being directed by Shakthi Chidambaram.
Vadivel says he was invited for the photo shoot of the film, and after that was not called even for a day’s shoot. Sources close to the actor say that the producer of the film was not willing to pay him his market rate, and wanted a discount which the ace comedian was not willing.
Actually Sundar C and Vadivel was a great comedy pair who has huge following in B & C stations. But after Thalainagaram’s mega success they fell out over ego issues. Now Shakthi Chidambaram was trying to bring them back, but has failed.
Recently Vadivel’s combination with Suriya in Aadhavan was one of the major highlights of the film. Even Rajinikanth after seeing the film commented that the hero-comedian combo was terrific.
This success has made Vadivel raise his salary to astronomical rates, nearly twice that of Vivek.
