Oviya lashes out at Malayalam film industry

Oviya, the Kalavani girl is from Kerala. But that does not make her think high of Malayalam films. When Malayalam movies are raved about by movie buffs and critics, Oviya’s comment that Malayalam films are boring and meant for elderly people has raised many an eyebrow.

The actress has also said that the Malayalam film industry does not treat young actresses well and give respect only to senior artistes.

Wonder what the Malayalam film industry has to say to this!

Divya Spandana with non-stop phone calls

A stalker, according to Divya Spandana, has been giving her a tough time with non-stop phone calls and ‘stupid messages’. Following this, the actress has sought the help of her fellow microbloggers to put an end to the menace.

“I need your help. The guy from this no *********** is stalking me. Calls me at the unearthly hours. Sends me stupid messages. Could you’ll teach him a thing or two in decency?” the actress wrote on her microblogging page.

When her fellow netizens suggested she block the number, the ‘Kuthu’ and ‘Varanam Aayiram’ actress replied: “I can’t block. Can’t change my no again cos I will have to reconnect and then invariably they do get my no.”

She added: “Police complaint will only make it a bigger issue. He won’t answer. Gotten a number just to trouble me I guess.” Meanwhile, the Sandalwood actress will soon come to Chennai to shoot a couple of songs of ‘Kadhal 2 Kalyanam’, a film which has Arya’s rother Sathya in the lead.

Actor Siddharth's Putham Pudhu Kaalai has launched

The shooting of young, energetic actor Siddharth's new bilingual flick titled 180 in Telugu and Putham Pudhu Kaalai in Tamil, directed by Siddharth's mentor P. Jayendra, has begun on Thursday. Notably, the film was launched without the presence of Siddharth, who was said to be busy shooting for Bava in Rajahmundry.

The movie will be shot in Hyderabad, Chennai and USA with latest RED cameras with highly effective sensors for the best product on screen. The film has two heroines: Priya Anand and Nitya Menon.

P. Jayendra says that he has been working for the last two years to make the script of Putham Pudhu Kalai and the movie has high entertainment values with a strong story base and screenplay.

Jackie Chan to meet our Chief Minister

Jackie Chan is not new to Tamil Nadu. The Asia's highest paid actor was in Chennai to release the audio of Kamal Haasan's 'Dasavatharam' in 2008. Now he is again coming to India this year on a promotional tour for his next film ' Little Big Soldier'.

The 25 million dollar film is releasing in India later this year. Jackie Chan will also be in Chennai in the south leg of his tour and during that visit he will meet Chief Minister Karunanidhi. Jackie Chan has good thoughts of the chief minister after his interaction with him during the ‘Dasavatharam’ audio release.

Jackie Chan's good friend Aascar Ravichandran will facilitate the meeting and he has already completed the formalities including appropriate permissions to meet Karunanidhi.

Rahman :I apologize to my fans

“I regret the inconvenience this causes and apologize to my fans and all those who have contributed to the tour. The shows will be rescheduled as soon as possible. In my 15 years of doing concerts I have always put my fans first. The accident in Detroit has had a profound effect on all of us. The band, dancers and crew and I are all highly disappointed, but it is the fans to whom I send the most heartfelt apology,” Rahman posted on his social networking site.

“The tour resumes on July 23rd in Birmingham and will play as scheduled in London on the 24th and 25th,” he added.

This apology came after the tour was derailed by a serious accident in Detroit (USA), in which part of the stage structure collapsed, destroying most of the stage, lighting and musical equipment. Consequently, the itinerary for the shows had to be re-scheduled.

Truly a rare gesture from a man of his stature.

Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone's fight

Prior to the shoot of Break Ke Baad there were a lot of reports about cold vibes between Deepika Padukone and Imran Khan. However, they soon struck up a friendship.

When we asked Imran about the initial tussle, he denied that there was ever such an issue. He says they were always friends and were only pulling each others leg.

“She is one of the sweetest persons I have worked with. She is a very hardworking person and honestly I don’t have a word of complain against her,” says Imran. “It is sad that you can’t joke about anything,” he refers to the joking over twitter which had led to the speculations.
