Poorna has dubbed herself in Drohi movie

Poorna is currently acting in seven films. She is acting in Drohi, Vithagan, Aadu Puli, Arjunan Kadhali, Naran, Vellore Mavattam and Kolai Thozhil. She is also acting in two Telugu and Malayalam film.

Poorna while speaking about this said,” I have decided to sign for new films only after the release of the films that I am acting. Since director Sudha requested me I have dubbed for the film Drohi. I should speak more clearly in Tamil. Now I am practicing this.”

Poorna proud to being like Asin

Poorna while speaking to the media said,” Wherever I go many are enquiring me whether I am Asin. They shake hands with me. It is good matter to resemble a talented heroine. Even Vijay when he met me in a function told that I look like Asin.

I felt like flying. Asin herself told me that I looked her and laughed. It is a great thing to be near Asin. Many are asking me where I had gone all these days. I have come now. The film Naran which I am acting now will earn a good name. These days it is a great thing if the heroine gets two songs and four scenes.

Director Aadhi has given significance for my role. Any heroine will like to act in this role. I am also acting in Vithagan, Arjunan Kadhali and Droghi. I am really happy about this. With regard to glamour, I will definitely act. But I will not exceed my limitations. Moreover my physique will not suit glamour. The audience should come to see the actresses face and not her body.”

Heroes are villains in Droghi movie

Indira Innovations is producing a film titled Droghi. Director Sudha K Prasad while speaking about this film said,” Droghi is an action film. Srikanth and Vishnu are the heroes. Poorna, Pooja and Poonam Bajwa are the heroines.

Thyagarajan is donning an important role in this film. Cinematographer Alphonse Roy and art director Rajeevan are also acting in this film. Rakshana Maurya has danced for a song.

Everyone is a traitor in one way or another. This is the one line of the story. Srikanth and Vishnu are not only heroes but also villains. They are good friends but due to enmity they part ways.   Both want to kill one another.

Though there are three heroines in this film, each has equal parts. When it was made known that shooting of this film is to take place in Royapuram, Srikanth started moving with those local before the shooting could commence.

Because of this we were able to shoot the film for 40 days without any hindrance; Selva Ganesh has composed the music. There is an opinion among people that only women directors can give soft romantic films. This film will change that opinion.”

Poorna says Kumbamela is a family story

Poorna who made her debut in Kandakottai which had Nakulan in the lead role is now acting in Kumbamela, Droghi, Arjunan Kadhali, Vithagan and Vellore Mavattam.

While she was on the sets of Droghi, she spoke about her films. She said,” Kumbamela is a family story. Prabhu sir, K R Vijaya aunty, Suresh sir and Yuvarani madam are all starring in this film. The shooting of this film is taking place in Kumbakonam.

It is very hot there,.My face became black, Seeing this, Vijaya aunty and Prabhu sir gave me a lot of beauty tips. They also taught me a lot about acting. In the same way Suresh who is donning the role of my father and Yuvarani who is donning the role of my mother also gave me a lot of beauty tips.
It is a great boon for me to act with such senior stars. Prakash sir, who is a script writer in Telugu, is directing this film. In Droghi, I am donning the role of a rowdy girl from the slum called Malar. Arjunan Kadhali is a romantic film like Roja. I am pairing with Jai. Srikanth Deva is composing the music.
All the songs have come out well. I am pairing with Nandha in the film Vellore Mavattam. I am donning the role of a software engineer. Only two more songs are remaining to be shot in the film Vithagan which has Parthiban in the lead role.”

Aadhi speaks about his film

Aadhi is currently acting in the film Kumbamela. While speaking recently to the media, he said,” The post production work of the film Ayyanar is going on. I am currently acting in the film titled Kumbamela directed by Prakash.

This is a family story. There is also action in this film but there is logic for this. It will not exceed the limits and will journey with the story. This film has the backdrop of the city. Poorna is pairing with me. After this I will be acting in a film to be directed by Vasantha Balan.

Pasupathy is also starring with me. Because of this many are asking me whether my role will have significance. Now a day the story is important for a film.

The days are gone where films use to be a hit because of the hero. This film is an action film with the backdrop of the village. The shooting of the film is to commence soon. The title of the film is yet to be decided.”

Poorna is waiting for the release of Viththagan

After ‘Kandha Kottai’, Poorna was waiting for the release of ‘Viththagan’ in which she pairs opposite Parthiban. But ‘Viththagan’ shows no signs of release and the girl has decided move on and started accepting new offers. She has accepted a new film to be directed by a women journalist Vijayapadma. The hero of the film ‘Kaiyezhuthu’ Shaan plays the male lead.

Poorna is spending a lot of time these days learning skating dance. She knew the art before but discontinued after she became busy in films. But now she has taken it up again or two reasons. One is to shed some flab that she gained unintentionally after ‘Kandha Kottai’. And the other reasons that she wants to do a film as a skating dancer and show her skating skills. As the master is in Kerala Poorna rushes to Kerala whenever she finds time for it.

Poorna follows Asin's style

Last year, at a function when Ilayathalapathy Vijay said that Poorna looks like Asin, it made her career. In the industry she was known as the Asin look-alike and created a flutter.

Now Poorna has gone one step ahead and is copying Asin Chechi’s style of dancing, facial expressions and her famous walk in songs!
Take a look at Kandha Kottaisongs and promos on television, you will find Poorna doing exactly what Chechi did in the hit song sequences of Pokkiri, Vel, Ghajini, Sivakasi etc.
And to top it all, Poorna not only smiles the way Asin did but also is having her style of dressing in the film. Poorna when contacted says: “ Yes I’m proud to say that Asin Chechi is my role model. Watch me in Kandha Kottai it is my best role so far, and my on screen chemistry with Nakul is terrific.”

Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Vettaikaran; Nagul's Kantha Kottai

Kalpathi S Agoram of AGS Entertainment and his Kantha Kottai releasing on December 19 has decided to take on Sun Pictures, Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Vettaikaran’s hitting the theatres on December 18!

It has sent shock waves as AGS Entertainment was considered close to Sun Pictures especially after they made Masilamani, a success. The trade says almost across Tamil Nadu nearly 350 screens will have Vettaikaran, which is being marketed aggressively.
But AGS is almost certain to go ahead and release Kantha Kottai which has Nakul and Poorna in the lead. They feel there is always a market for a second film which actually can piggy ride on the bigger film especially in theatre complexes in the state.

Actress Tamanna gets hotter in Sura

Tamannaah is amongst the latest crop of starlets to set root in tinselville. Tamannaah, who played her part well in Kandein Kadhalai, the remake of Jab We Met, is now awaiting the release of Paiyya opposite Karthi. Coming up next for her is the biggest fish of them all, Sura opposte Ilayathalapathi Vijay! While the movie is said to be a proper mass masala flick, we hear that Tamannaah has upped the glamour in the movie. “Tamannaah is naturally beautiful. She has a great body and a lovely face, and she loves to experiment with her looks. In Sura, she will be at her glamorous best! The actress has never been shown in such a light before – so very sensual and hot,” says Priya Manikandan, Tamanaah’s costume designer in Paiyya and Sura.

Poorna has left an opportunity for acting Kannada top star Punith Rajakumar

Poorna has missed an opportunity to act opposite Kannada top star Punith Rajakumar. Circles close to the actress blame her manager as a reason behind her losing the meaty offer.

“When the producer of Punith Rajakumar starrer ‘Prithvi’ contacted Poorna’s manager, he said the actress was busy with prior commitments. Hence the offer went to ‘Poo’ fame Parvathi,” it is said.

Poorna had earlier acted in a Kannada movie titled ‘Sivamani’. Hence the makers of ‘Prithvi’ approached her. But her manager’s reluctance snatched away a prestigious project from her, reports said.

In Tamil, the actress is eagerly expecting the release of ‘Kandha Kottai’, in which she has acted opposite ‘Nakul’. Poorna, who made her debut with ‘Muniyandi Vilangiyal Moonramandu’, is also acting in ‘Vithagan’ opposite Parthiban.

Nakul don't fall in love with Poorna

Nakul has paired with Poorna in the film Kandakottai. This film has been produced by T T Raja and directed by Sakthivel. It seems that Nakul and Poorna had become intimate during the shooting of this film.
So there were rumors that this closeness has blossomed into romance. When asked Nakul about this, he said,” When I was acting in Kadhalil Vizhundhen and Maasilamani there were news that I was in love with Sunaina. Now there are rumors that I am in love with Poorna with whom I am pairing in Kandakottai.
There is no truth in the news that I am in love with Poorna. Poorna is a good actress and dancer. In the film we both will be clashing with each other. There is no romance between us. In Kandakottai, I am donning the role of an educated youth in search of a job. I am of the character who doesn’t believe in love.
The story is what happens if I start loving. I have sung one song under Dhina’s composition. Kalapathy S Agoram was very much impressed after seeing the film. He immediately acquired the rights.”

Poorna does not want glamour image

Poorna says that she does not want glamour image. While speaking to the media recently, she said,” I am donning the role of a Christian girl in Vithagan directed by Parthiban.

Many are asking why this film is getting delayed. Since Parthiban is donning two types of roles in these films, he has to change the appearance for each role so it takes time. The shooting of the film is going on as per the schedule. There is no delay.

I am acting with Srikanth and Vishnu in the film Drohi directed by Manirathnam assistant Suha and also with Jai in the film titled Arjunan Kadhali directed by Parthi Bhaskar. The climax of this film has fascinated me very much. I am eagerly waiting to see the whole film.

Currently I am acting in four films. I am not accepting any new films. The reason is that instead of getting a glamour heroine image I wanted to earn the name as a good actress
