South India's new top heroin is Sapan Saran

South India's new rising star Sapan Saran shot to fame with the Bharath-Tamannaah super hit Tamil film Kanden Kadhalai (2009) in which she played the second heroine. Sapan will be soon seen in a pivotal role in Kollywood's much acclaimed director Gautham Menon's Telugu version of his new film Vinnaithandi Varuvaya (Tamil), starring Silambarasan and Trisha in the lead roles. Titled Yemaya Chesave, the Telugu version stars Naga Chaitanya and Samantha as the lead pair; Sapan will be the second heroine. Model-turned-actress Sapan Saran made her acting debut with Pathak's Bollywood film SRK, produced by Warner Bros.
Yemaya Chesave is produced by Manjula (Krishna’s daughter) under the banner of Indira Creations. Music is by the one and only A.R. Rahman. It is heard that if all goes well, both Tamil and Telugu versions will be released on the same day: February 19.

Happy Birth day to the Queen of Kollywood

Birthday girl Tamannah has every reason to be on cloud nine! The lady’s career graph has been moving up steadily and she has three hits, Ayan, Padikaadavan and Kanden Kadhalai, to boast of in 2009. And next year is even better for the star as she already has four films lined up for release. While Payya, with Karthi, is due for a February release, she has the Jayam Ravi starrer Thillalangadi, Vijay’s Sura and a Dhanush starrer.

Tamannah, who is on her way to the road of success, is celebrating her birthday today (December 21st)..

Bharath’s second time under this banner of Sathya Jyothi films

Following the box office success of ‘Kanden Kadhalai’, teaming-up of director Kannan and Bharath has been confirmed, say the birdies.

Sathya Jyothi films that produced Kannan’s debut venture ‘Jeyam Kondaan’ is said to have taken this project too. It’s noteworthy that Bharath has already done a film for Sathya Jyothi films earlier. That is none other that ‘Em Magan’ directed by ‘Metti Oli’ fame director Thiru Murugan. It’s will be the first time in Bharath’s career that he will be acting for the second time under this banner.

Sources say that director Kannan’s team is all busy with works for heroine selection. We will see Bharath as an action hero in this untitled flick, they say.

Last week Bharath threw a success party after his Kanden Kadhalai, turned out to be a hit.

The party was held for close friends and the team that made the film successful, at a posh bungalow by the seaside on ECR. Says Bharath: “I owe the success of KK to Sun Pictures and its marketing team who did a great job”.
After that he took a break and went on a visit of Northern India, which he wanted to visit from his childhood. He went to Srinagar in Kashmir, then went to see snow in Leh in Ladakh, and finally winded up his 10 day break with a visit to Rajasthan and Agra.
Says Bharath: “The highlight of my holiday was spotting a tiger in the wild at the Ranthambore National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary in Rajasthan. It was a rare occasion as the tiger is a majestic animal, which can be rarely spotted in the wild.”

Now Bharath, after hectic whirlwind “Bharathdarsan” is back home in Madurai shooting for Perarasu’s Thiruthani.

Bharath proves himself as a good actor

Bharath says he is still trying to find his spot in tinselville. He has proven himself as a good actor with his moving roles in Kadhal and Veyyil. He has proved that he can don the romantic hero garb with February 14th and now Kanden Kadhalai. He’s proved that he can thulp the baddies with his mass flicks Pazhani and Seval. But what’s his fave style? “Romantic movies have their positives – you get to spend lots of time with a pretty woman and tell her the most romantic things and have her fall head-over-heels in love with you. That’s more or less what every guy wants. The strong roles like in Veyyil help you whet your acting skills. But it’s the mass action role that gives an actor a complete image makeover! You are immediately seen in a different light. I like it all. I don’t want to get stereotyped and that’s why I did Kanden Kadhalai,” says the actor rather diplomatically.

But diplomacy is not the only lesson cinema has taught him. “The first lesson I learnt was that in cinema every second is money. You got to be disciplined and efficient enough to make that work!” Well said, Bharath and let’s hope your producers feel you have learnt that lesson well!

Tamannaah joins King Khan

She goes yakety-yak in her latest movie ‘Kanden Kadhalai’. And people have not stopped talking about her bubbly performance in the movie since its release.

Tamannaah have grabbed the headlines and appreciations for her adorable talkative character as Anjali in the movie. The white beauty has shown tremendous growth since her ‘Kalloori’ days and attracted filmmakers and offers to her side as well. Now with ‘Kanden Kadhalai’ moving forward in the BO queue, we can look forward for her next movie, ‘Paiya’, with Karthi.

Here’s a juicy rumour for you! It is said that Tamannah will be sharing the screen with Bollywood’s superstar Shah Rukh Khan for Hindi movie, which will be directed by talented filmmaker Farhan Akhtar.

Hmm, the gal seem to be climbing the success ladder quite early, we say!

Bharath gets that elusive hit Kanden kadhalai

The success of Sun Pictures Kanden Kadhalai produced by Moser Baer and Blue Ocean has given its hero Bharath, an all new look and that elusive hit.

As the suave and soft spoken Sakthi the young businessman, he has been able to woo the upper class multiplex audiences. It is a positive sign as Bharath after an impressive debut in Shankar’s Boys went and did mass hero action movies catering to B & C markets.

Please note that Tamil cinema has changed from the 80’s and 90’s concept as B & C alone cannot make you a superstar.

The success of Suriya and Dhanush is a clear indication that A center audiences are today more crucial than any other segment. So Bharath is on the right route as proved by KK.

Tamannaah-The new queen of K'wood!

Tamannaah Bhatia has pulled it off in style. Her Sun Pictures marketed Moser Baer produced Kanden Kadhalai has taken a good opening.

Her performance in the film is being appreciated and critics are unanimous that she is “one good reason to watch the romantic romp”.

According to Blue Ocean Entertainment’s VM Lalitha who held a show of KK for the actors family and friends in Mumbai: “ Tammu has done a difficult task with ease as she has lived up to the role done by Kareena in the original Jab We Met, which itself is fantastic by any yardstick”

The 19-year old soft spoken Sindhi girl from Lokhandwala in Mumbai has zoomed passed her competitors in Tamil and is the clear number one by a mile. She had four releases in 2009- Padikathavan (Super Hit), Anandathandavam (Flop), Ayan (Blockbuster) and now Kanden Kadhalai (early days but can be classified as a hit).

At the moment the actress has Paiyya with Karthi coming up for release for Pongal 2010, Thilalangadi with Jayam Ravi for Valentine day in February, and the biggest of them all Sura Ilayathalapathy’s 50th film for summer.

What more does she need to be crowned as the queen of Kollywood?
