Jeeva's Kacheri Arambam releases on

Jiiva's Kacheri Arambam is all set to grace theatres on Friday. Meanwhile, we also hear that the promo activities for the film are already on a high. There are also high expectations from his fans as the title suggests a racy entertainer.
Jiiva is teaming up with bubbly Poonam Bajwa after Thenavattu. The highlight of this film is the new team of Jiiva and Vadivelu (who plays the owner of a firecracker store in Burma Bazaar) to tickle our funny bones. Vadivelu is said to have taken special efforts to ensure that his comic scenes are topnotch.
Music by Imman is already popular, especially the 'Vaada Vaada Paiya' song, which has Amogha in a special item number. (Remember Amogha, the bubbly lass who starred in Jay Jay opposite Madhavan?) Sources close to the unit say that the actress will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar in this fast beat number. Jiiva has also taken some special efforts to make his dance movements more stylish.

Five releases on March 5

Suddenly March 5 has become a crucial date in Kollywood, as it is the last Friday before the big cricket season starts.

Some 70 theatres in Tamil Nadu are planning to screen Indian Premiere League (IPL) cricket matches from March 12 to April 25!

UFO Moviez, the world's largest digital satellite cine network has got the rights to screen IPL 2010 matches live in theatres across India. The IPL matches will be screened in high definition digital format without any commercial breaks live.

Says Jayaprakash, Regional Manager UFO Moviez : “ Cinema theatres will be having live streaming, while television will have 30 minutes deferred telecast, make it more appealing to watch it on big screen. We already have an agreement with 60 screens in Tamil Nadu and are targeting 150 to 160 screens across the state. Already multiplexes like Inox and PVR (opening in Chennai in March) have tied up with us. This will serve as profitable alternate revenue generating entertainment content for the exhibitors”

The line up of movies for March 5, a week before IPL starts is getting overcrowded. The films which are in hunt for theatres are- Aval Peyar Tamilarasi, Thambikku Intha Ooru, Kacheri Arambam, Mathiossi, Azhaganna Ponnuthaan.

Kacheri Arambam climax mixes with emotion

Actor Jeeva’s next movie, Kacheri Arambam, is his home production and is directed by debutante Thiraivanan. “A man who forces a girl into a relationship and a man who leaves the woman who loves him, are not men at all. This is the essence of my movie Kacheri Arambam. Jiiva plays a character called Pari, who is the kind of guy who is very giving. If someone likes something of his, like a cell phone and asks for it, Pari will not hesitate to give it to that person. But when it’s his girlfriend the person asks for, Pari will not cooperate. How he saves her from that someone and how they begin their life together is the rest of the story. Though it sounds like a very action-packed story, we’ve presented it with a lot of comedy and commercial elements, that are bound to make it an enjoyable experience for the audience,” reveals the excited director about his debut movie.
Ask him what’s the most special aspect about his movie and pat comes the reply, “The climax! That is what will either make or break the movie! Typically there are two ways to end a movie – a fight in which the good guy knocks good sense into the bad guy, else the good guy gives a lengthy sermon that causes the baddy to change. In our movie, it’s a combination of both. After every statement the good guy thrashes the bad guy. The climax is a proper mix of emotion and action. It’s a risky take, but we took it!”
