Anushka reveals her beauty secret

Anushka whose real name is Sweetie Shetty while speaking to the media said,”Vaanam is my fourth Tamil film. This film is remake of Telugu film Vedam.

This film has a good storyline. I am donning the role called Saroja. It is very happy to work with the team like Simbhu, Bharath, Vega, Soni Agarwal and Prakash Raj. Normally I am very interested in dancing. Simbhu is also good dancer.

Both of us have shaken our legs for a Kuthu song which is going definitely enthrall the audience. Many are asking me whether I know yoga. Lot of changes has happened in my life. Some of the changes have happened due to yoga. Cinema is one such thing.

When I was doing Plus Two I opted for statistics. When I joined college I did B C A. When I completed college, I got interested in yoga. Immediately I joined yoga class and started learning it systematically. The instructor for my yoga class was Bhagat’s friend.

This yoga is helping me keeping my physique and health fit. Director Nivas introduced me into cinema. I came to cinema without any knowledge of cinema. But the film Arundhathi gave me the status of best actress and made me popular.

When I don’t have shooting I do yoga, otherwise there is no time for me to do yoga continuously. Many are asking me about the secret of my beauty. I exercise 30 minutes every day. I drink lot of water. I finish my dinner by 8 pm. Apart from this no secret. I always feel that we should protect the beauty given to us by nature. May be this could be the secret.”

Anushka is No.1 actress

Anushka is caught in a catch 22 situation. She has to make up her mind whether to concentrate more on Kollywood or Tollywood.
The actress has been flooded with offers from Tamil cinema following the success of her dubbed Arundathi and Singam with Suriya.

Now the latest we hear is that the lady who is doing Vaanam in Tamil has been offered Madhrasapattinam fame Vijay's new film with Vikram and Lingusamy's action packed Vettai with Arya and Maddy.

She is likely to do director Vijay's film where she will play a fiercely independent lawyer who takes up the brief for Vikram. It is said to be a performance oriented role.

But what is nagging Sweety as she is known among friends is that her career in Telugu which was going great guns has hit a rock with the failure of her big budget Mahesh Babu actioner Khaleeja. Her advisors are telling her to concentrate more in Telugu than Tamil films.

Anushka is currently doing four films in Telugu with major stars and there are plans to do a sequel to her blockbuster Arundathi . Today Anushka is undoubtedly the number one in Telugu ahead of her immediate rivals Ileana and Genelia.

Yuvan's schedule for Vaanam and Mankatha

Musician Yuvan Shankar Raja is busy these days scoring the music for Vaanam and Mankatha. He has said that he is scoring the music for Vaanam during the night and has Mankatha scheduled during the day.

Yuvan is currently working on the Vaanam single and this will be released next week, probably. He is making it into a futuristic club track and is doing all that he can to make it a chartbuster. The music director also revealed that he gave a sneak preview of the Vaanam single to his fans recently. Happy with the outcome, Yuvan will soon complete the track and master it so that it is ready by next week.

Vaanam movie audio launch on October 18 in London

The anticipated multi starrer film ‘Vaanam’ produced by ‘VTV’ Ganesh is almost complete and the team has started working on the promotions. The first major act is going to be the launch of its music in London on October 18.

The audio launch is going to be a big event with the entire cast walking the red carpet on that day. Anushka, Bharath, Vega and Sonia Agarwal along with Yuvan Shankar Raja, director Krish is expected to fly to London on Friday. Silambarasan is already in London shooting for ‘Podaa Podi’.

This will be the second audio launch of a Tamil film happening in London after ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaya’ and this too is being made possible by the producer of ‘VTV’.

‘Vaanam’ is one of the big films of this year and it is expected to change some rules of the Kollywood game.

Anushka speaks about herself

Anushka after acting in a single Tamil film had gone away. Now she is back and is on the top. Anushka while speaking to the media said,” I should have become a leading actress in Tamil cinema very earlier. But to unknown reasons it was delayed.

Since I became busy in Telugu I could not find time to act in Tamil films. But now I have got that place and I should work very hard to retain this position. There is a question that I am acting more in super power roles. In Arundhathi I donned the super power role.

Similarly I did these kind of roles in some films. Many are commenting that Anushka is not acting realistically. You should have the boldness to act in the challenging roles. The whole burden of Arundhathi was on me.

Was not this film a hit? Because of this only I am getting such offers. Acting is not alone singing duet with the heroes. Many are asking me that why I have agreed to work in remake films. I am not against remakes but at the same time I don’t want to do the same role again and again.

But I have donned the role in the Tamil film Vaanam which I did in the Telugu original film Vedam. The reason for this is director Krish. It would wonderful to work with him. You can learn a lot of things from him. This film will add strength to my career in Tamil.

There was news that Simbhu is my fan. Not only him, lots of other heroes are my fans. Simbhu has openly mentioned this. I am thankful to him for this. Whether my height is a plus or minus, I should say that I am not extraordinarily tall. I am of average height. So far I have not faced problems in acting because of my height. Most of the heroes these days are taller.”

Vaanam audio launch in London on October 15

Looks like Superstar's Enthiran has already created a new trend in Kollywood, i.e. having audio launches abroad. The next to follow the trend is Sumbu's Vaanam, remake of the Telugu super hit Vedam.

The film's music launch will be held in London on October 15. According to Vaanam's music director Yuvanshankar Raja, all the songs in the film are peppy and will surely rock the charts. The story evolves around five people, who meet in the climax of the film, due to unforeseen circumstances.

Vaanam also has Anushka, Bharath, Vega, Prakashraj, Sonia Aggarwal, Jayaprakash and Ganesh in prominent roles. The film is expected to grace theatres in December.

Vaanam shooting nears to end

The shooting of Vaanam, the Simbu and Bharath multi-starrer, is nearing the climax. Literally! Director Krish has already finished filming the portions involving different actors in the movie. Since the plot revolves around the conjuncture of five characters in the climax, it is quite a task to acquire the dates of all the actors. According to sources, only a few scenes and the climax remain to be filmed.

Vaanam has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and he along with Simbu, will be releasing a single track for the promotional agenda on October 15. The film's producer VTV Ganesh is also planning to premiere the movie in London. Vaanam is expected to be released during the last week of November or by first week of December.

Anushka has huge hope about Vaanam

Be it a bikini or traditional wear, Anushka always sizzles. With her performance in Arundhati and Vedam, this talented actress proved that she is not just a pretty face. Now the actress is currently busy with Vaanam (Tamil remake of Vedam) alongside Simbu and Bharath. Interestingly Anushka plays the role of a sex worker in Vaanam, which has five different stories with one common climax.

According to the actress, the Tamil version is going to better as the script has been changed according the suit the tastes of Tamil audiences.

Lekha says that why she is not acting in Vaanam

Lekha was supposed to pair with Simbhu in the film Kettavan. She also acted in the first schedule but she was removed from the film because her acting was not satisfactory.

In between this film also shelved. After this, she made her debut as heroine in the Tamil film Jayamkondan. She also acted in the Telugu film Vedam.

This film is being remade in Tamil with the title Vaanam. Simbhu is doing the lead role. Lekha was offered the same role she did in the Telugu version. But it seems she has refused this role because was responsible for removing her from Kettavan.

When asked Lekha about this, she said,” People are telling that I refused this role because I have to act with Simbhu. It is not like that. I don’t like to do the same role again and again. Next I will be donning the role of Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter in the Hindi film titled Power. I am pairing with Ajay Devgan in this film.”

Anushka role has been confirmed in Vaanam

Rubbishing recent reports that she refused to be part of the Tamil remake of her Telugu super hit Vedam, directed by promising director Krish with Allu Arjun in the lead, reigning actress Anushka has confirmed that she would repeat the role of a sex worker Saroja in Vedam's Tamil remake titled Vaanam.

"I'm playing in Vaanam, the same character (Saroja) that I played in Vedam. When we did it in Telugu, it was a new venture, a multi-starrer and a different kind of a movie. Even though we knew it was an amazing script, we all had our inhibitions as to how people would take it. But we had a terrific response from the media and the audience. We are planning to put in a lot more in Vaanam. We are also looking to make it more commercial this time," the pretty actress was quoted as saying.

Asked how different the Tamil version is from the Telugu version, Anushka said: "I just started working on this project from Monday. The star cast is different but otherwise the version is the same." Besides Anushka, Vaanam will have Simbu, Bharath, Vega and Sonia Agarwal in the lead role. The film is produced by V.T.V. Ganesh; cinematography is by Nirav Shah and music by Yuvanshankar Raja.

Sonia Agarwal back in Cine field

Divorce has not put Sonia Agarwal down. After separating from Selvaraghavan, Sonia was seen at all the major filmy events in good spirits. She also showed her interest to return to films during those times.

First there was news from Kasthoori Raja that Sonia will be making her re-entry through one of his films.

But now we have confirmed news saying Sonia Agarwal is homecoming with the upcoming film ‘Vaanam’ starring Silambarasan, Prakash Raj, Bharath, Anushka and Sneha Ullal.

In ‘Vaanam’, Sonia plays the wife of Prakash Raj. ‘Vaanam’ is the Tamil remake of the super hot Telugu film ‘Vedam’ directed by Krish. The Tamil version is also directed by Krish himself.

‘Vaanam’ is many stories spun together beautifully. All the stars have equal screen space so Sonia is there to make an impact again. More over Sonia will have a song and more scenes than what was there for her role in the Telugu original.

Interestingly Sonia was approached for the same role when the original ‘Vedam’ was conceived. But she could not take it for private reasons. Sonia‘s last film in Tamil ‘Thiruttu Payale’ was three years ago and it was the biggest hit if that year.

Is Vaanam Movie title changed?

‘Vaanam’, a multistarrer which has STR (Simbu), Bharath and Sneha Ullal among others playing lead roles, may go for a title change, say sources in the know.

The film, a remake of Tollywood hit ‘Vedam’ is directed by Krish, who made the Telugu original too. It is based on the lives of five youngsters and Simbu is playing Cable Raja, a cable TV operator.

“Since the makers of the film feel that the title is not catchy, they are seriously thinking about renaming the movie. A list of titles is being worked out and a decision would be made soon,” say sources.

Interestingly, it may be recalled that Simbu too has changed his name recently. He has asked his fans to call him STR henceforth, the short form of his full name Silambarasan Thesingu Rajendran.

Silambarasan joins Sneha Ullal

Again on Silambarasan. Silambarasan film 'Vaanam' is making the news from the launch date. One of the news was that Anushka refused to do the film with Silambarasan but finally agreed to do an item number. Another was Lingusamy accusing Silambarasan for delaying his film because Silambarasan has started to shoot for ‘Vaanam’ ahead of his film. Another was the debate over if Anushka had refused who will be the heroine of ‘Vaanam’. ‘Vaanam’ is the Tamil remake of super hit Telugu film 'Vedam'

Silambarasan has got his heroine. He has chosen Sneha Ullal to be his heroine in ‘Vaanam’. Sneha Ullal was introduced by Salman Khan in Hindi after he broke up with Aishwarya Rai. The only reason Salman had to launch Sneha Ullal was that she looked like Aishwarya. But her career in Hindi was a flop and so like all drop outs she looked towards south. In Telugu she is doing fairly well. Sneha Ullal is one of the heroines of the recent Telugu box office hit 'Simha' starrig Balakrishna.

Now she is coming to Kollywood through Silambarasan. Sneha Ullal plays the sex worker role played by Anushka in the original. STR and Sneha Ullal will start shooting their portions from July 24 in Chennai.

Anushka is not a heroin in Silambarasan movie

When most of the media is abuzz with the launch of 'Vaanam' and the new pair of Silambarasan and Anushka we hear a different story from some sources. According to some news reaching us, Anushka is not the heroine of the film ‘Vaanam’ but she has been signed for an item song number only.

‘Vaanam’ is the remake of the recent sensational Telugu hit directed by Krish with Allu Arjun, Manoj Manchu, Anushka, Manoj Bajpai, Lekha Washington and others playing the lead roles. Tamil 'Vaanam' is being produced by B Ramesh and ‘VTV’ Ganesh and will have music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

The story now doing rounds is this. Anushka first refused to play the same role in Tamil and then the Tamil producers asked her to do an item number only in the Tamil version. Still not interested Anushka quoted an exorbitant price thinking the producers will then avoid her for the film. However, when our producers agreed to the quoted price Anushka had no choice but to agree.

But the same Anushka has done an item role in Telugu for free. Of course that was for her close friend Bhoomika. Bhoomika is producing a Telugu film 'Thakita Thakita' and Anushka did a guest role with out any remuneration.
