Titanic in 3D version releases soon

After the phenomenal success of Avatar and the more recent Alice in Wonderland, 3D is the in-thing in Hollywood. After Avatar, James Cameron has confirmed the re-release of Titanic, this time in 3D. James has planned to release this version in the summer of 2012 (April 15), to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the gigantic ship. Thanks to computer technology, 3D effects can be added to films shot without the use of 3D-specific cameras like he used for Avatar.

"We're targeting spring of 2012 for the release (of a 3D version of Titanic), which is the 100-year anniversary of the sailing of the ship", said James in a recent interview. It will be fascinating to see how Titanic looks with an added dimension.

Madharasapattinam like another Titanic

Madrasapattinam is a tragedy like Titanic, we hear. Well, it is not a story based on a ship but is set in the pre-independence era. Sources report that the film is based on the pre-Independence era during which the hero Arya, a son of a dobhi, and a British lady (played by Amy Jackson) fall in love. Following strict resistance from the families, the lovers could not unite and the heroine goes back to her native country.

After 50 years, Amy comes back to India to trace her long lost lover. The climax of Madrasapattinam is so similar to Titanic, particularly the tragedy part.

The success of James Cameroon's Avatar

Recently, James Cameroon's magnum opus Avatar dethroned Titanic to become the highest-grossing movie of all time. Within 31 days of its opening, the movie has revolutionized the word 'Cinema'.
And now, the film has bagged as many as nine nominations in different categories, including Sound Editing, Art Direction, Cinematography, Directing, Film Editing, Music (Original, Score), Best Picture, Sound Mixing and of course for Best Visual Effects.
Directed by James Cameron and produced by 20th Century Fox, Avatar is an epic action adventure. The film was first conceived by Cameron 14 years ago when the means to realize his vision did not yet exist. Cameron again combines elements of massive spectacle and intimate character to tell a relatable and emotional tale.
Avatar is the first-ever 3D Hollywood film to be released in Tamil. Fox Star Studios India released the 3D version of Avatar in around 700 prints in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, one of the biggest Indian releases for a Hollywood film, with a whopping 100 prints released in Tamil.
