Bodyguard tamil version is Kaavalkaaran
Kollywood's Ilayathalapathy Vijay's much-talked-about Tamil remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Bodyguard, which marks the re-entry of Asin in South Indian cinema after a gap, will go on floors today at Kumbakonam, under the direction of Siddique, who directed the original.
The film is tentatively titled Kaavalkaaran. Interestingly this will be the second time that Vijay will act in a film that has MGR’s film title, the first being Vettaikaran. According to sources, Raj Kiran will play the pivotal role of Asin’s father who employs Vijay as her bodyguard. Vadivelu will provide the comic relief along with M.S. Bhaskar. Vidyasagar will compose the music. This is the second time Siddique is working with Vijay. Earlier, they came together in the super hit Friends.
Notably, this is the third time Vijay and Asin team up in their careers. The duo was earlier seen in Pokkiri and Sivakasi, both of which did wonders at the box office.
Bodyguard is based on a plot with plenty of comedy and action. There are also reports that Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor has bagged the rights for a Hindi version.
