Chennai Super Kings' Failiur is the path of Kollywood's Success

Four defeats in a row and the 2008 IPL finalist Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are virtually out of a semi final berth in IPL 2010!

The local Chennai team’s pathetic performance has made the fans who backed them lose their interest in IPL.
From Super Kings to Super flops has actually indirectly helped K- Wood, as now the focus of the local youth will veer back to Tamil cinema and the summer releases. Says Abirami Ramanathan: “The IPL has not really affected movie business and now with the inglorious exit of CSK, from finding a semi final berth the local flavour in the the tournament will be missing.”
Good news for the industry is that Mayajaal multiplex which was screening IPL matches in its air-conditioned auditorium has stopped screening from last Friday (March 26). As per reports the audiences had dipped following CSK’s poor performance and Kollywood was also not too keen on showing IPL matches on the big screen.
Meanwhile it has given a big boost to summer releases like Paiyya and Sura, which will now take even bigger openings.
