Kollywood in the New Year

Happy New Year! The boom in production continues in Kollywood in the New Year. Four films are releasing for the weekend. They are Pugaipadam, Naai Kutty, Thunichal and Nil Gavani Kadhali Among the lot Rajesh Lingam’s Pugaipadam seems to look impressive. The film is said to be very realistic and has made Bharathiraja cry. All new faces are acting in this film which has a campus milieu.
Pitamagan producer VA Dorai’s Naaikutty is trying to mix realism with violence and has newcomer Selvin in the lead with Nicole and is directed by Sadhaji. Namitha’s Nil Gavani Ennai Kadhali is nothing but the dubbed version of the actresses first film in Malayalam Black Stallion and has plenty of glamour.
Thunichal is Arun Vijay’s five year old film which has been brought out of the cans , cashing in on the success of his Malai Malai. The actor has not even dubbed for the film!
