Dhanush’s, 2010 Pongal treat Kutty has been censored with a clean U certificate. The film, which is family entertainer is all set to release on Thursday, January 14, Pongal day all over Tamilnadu.
Kutty produced by Gemini Film Circuit is directed by Mitran Jawahar, the man who gave us that super hit Yaaradi Nee Mohini in 2007. Now, this film too promises to be a thorough entertainer with plenty of comedy, romance, songs and sentiments.
The film is Dhanush’s release after three consecutive hits and remember that Pongal has always been lucky for him with Padikkathavan (released for Pongal 2009) turning out to be one of the super hits of the year.
The buzz on the film is positive and censor board members who watched the film loved it claiming that it is the perfect outing for the entire family. The songs tuned by Devi Sri Prasad are already topping the charts.

Aayirathil Oruvan 100% sure relese in Pongal

Director Selvaraghavan and producer R Ravindran have confirmed that their Karthi- Reemma- Andrea- Parthipan extravaganza Aayirathil Oruvan, will make it for Pongal 2010.

Newspaper ads have also started appearing announcing a Pongal release.
In an interview, Selvaraghavan has said: “I guarantee 200 percent that the film will be ready for a Pongal 2010 release. All the CG and graphic work of the film is over. The re-recording will be over in the next two days and then the final mixing will start, as of now we will be censoring the film before Christmas and it will be the big Pongal release.”
The contentious issue of two Karthi films- Aayirathil Oruvan & Paiyya releasing for Pongal has been amicably settled.
Now the Lingusamy directed film will release only after a minimum 35 days after the release of the Selvaraghavan film.

Vettaikaran release date- Asal's final shoot date

Ajith’s Asal is progressing at a fast pace and December 18 has been announced as the final shoot date.

Asal is produced by Sivaji Productions and rumors are on that the film will be released for Pongal. But the Sivaji camp has other ideas, it is believed. As almost a practice most of the late actor Sivaji’s films were released on Republic Day and there are speculations that Asal also may be released on January 26th 2010.

But Sivaji’s son Ram Kumar is keen on a Pongal release. One has to wait for further news from the Sivaji tent about the release date.

Ajith option for his Asal release on Republic day 2010

Think Music, an association of Sathyam Cinemas and Hungama network has acquired the audio rights of ‘ASAL’. Ajith Kumar’s ‘ASAL’ is fast approaching the completion and the dubbing works have already started. With couple of songs pending to be shot in abroad and studio in Chennai, Sivaji Productions is planning to launch the audio by December.

However, nothing has been confirmed by Saran or Ajith Kumar about the film’s release for Pongal. With many releases lining up for Pongal release, Ajith may opt for the Republic Day on Jan 26 to release the film.

Goa realeses on Pongal 2010

Despite media rumours that Goa may not release in January, it has been confirmed that the film will indeed release in 2010 and that too for Pongal (January 14).
Recently, a stunt sequence featuring Sneha and Vaibhav was shot at Binny Mills. Also present at the shooting spot were Jai, Premji and Aravind Akash. Goa, directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Soundarya Rajinikanth, also stars Simbu and Nayantara in interesting cameos. The film also has a foreign actor Melanie who plays Premji's love interest in the film. Piaa (of Aegan and Poi Solla Porom fame) is Jai's heroine.
The music of the film is composed by Yuvanshankar Raja and the songs will be released on December 23 under the Sony Music label.

Ajith silenced in Asal

Director Saran, known for making films with a difference, has tried something new in the Ajith starer Asal. Sources in Kollywood say that Ajith’s dialogues in the film are not more than two pages. No, this does not mean that his role is cut short, but the actor will convey the emotions mostly through his eyes and facial expressions. This has indeed created a huge expectation among Ajith’s fans.

Asal has a strong star cast including Prabhu, Suresh, Suhasini, Sameera Reddy and Bhavana. The film is slated for Pongal release.
