How to become a choreographer?
Shivaji who worked as a choreographer in Rameswaram continued to work as choreographer for more than 40 films.
While speaking to the media, he said,” Recently Ilayaraja had mentioned that all the people who know to play the key board cannot become music composers. Similarly all the people who know dancing cannot become choreographers.
Dancing is a kind of talent. It needs creativity to become a choreographer. That is important. The director will say a situation for a sequence. The choreographer has to design the movements according to the situation. The choreographer should satisfy the director. He should also satisfy the audience.
The real talent lies in the choreographer when he stops the audience going to the canteen during the song sequence. We cannot differentiate the talents of dancing within the actors and actresses.
All the heroes of these days are well versed in dancing. But we cannot say that all the heroes and heroines have the same kind of talents. Some will express the feelings facially and some through their body languages.”
