Vadivelu’s advocate made an appeal to a Sessions Court

Vadivelu’s advocate on Friday made an appeal to a Sessions Court Judge in Chennai not to grant anticipatory bail to the actor’s one-time close aide Singamuthu in a threat case.

Vadivelu and Singamuthu who had worked together in several films have been accusing each other over buying of a property. A complaint was also registered at Chennai Crime Branch and investigations are on.

And a case is reportedly pending before Metropolitan Magistrate Court at Saidapet. Meanwhile Singamuthu, according to reports, filed an anticipatory bail plea with a Sessions Court in Chennai.

When the petition came up for hearing Friday, counsel for Singamuthu stated that all allegations levelled against him were false. However, Vadivelu’s counsel Paul Kanagaraj denied the charges and said the bail plea should be rejected.

Vadivelu speaks about Income Tax raids

During the recent raids on Vadivelu, the Income Tax department stumbled on the fact that the comedian has purchased property worth several crores that turned out to be forgeries.

Now Vadivelu has accused his friend and associate Singamuthu who used to appear with him in comedy tracks of cheating him of several crores of rupees by forging property documents and threatening him with dire consequences.
On Tuesday Vadivelu personally lodged a complaint with Chennai Police Commissioner T Rajendran seeking action against Singamuthu and others who had allegedly cheated him in connection with the purchase of land.
Says Vadivelu: “I came to know that these were forged documents only after the IT raids Singamuthu had helped me identify and buy some of these properties which were sold to me using forged documents."
Vadivelu added that like in many of his films he ended up looking like a fool.
