Arjun says Making movie like Vallakottai is difficult

“My fans have always preferred me in action-packed movies. I have to pay heed to their demands. Rarely does an actor get the opportunity to do all that he is capable of in a single movie. In ‘Vallakottai’ I got to do just that”, says Arjun.

Arjun happy about the way A Venkatesh directed the movie and he says, “I have several get-ups in the film. I dress up as ‘Nayagan’ Kamal Haasan, ‘Krissh’ Hrithik Roshan and ‘Pirates of the Carribean’ Johnny Depp among other looks”.

“I feel making an off-beat movie is easier compared to making commercial films”, he says and adds: “‘I would say that a commercial movie that combines stunts, romance and emotions in agreeable proportions is difficult to make. With director A Venkatesh at the helm, we have managed to achieve that in Vallakottai”.

Arjun says that Vallakottai will be strong

Arjun feels happy with Kollywood career

With just hours left for the music launch of ‘Vallakottai’, Arjun, the protagonist of the film, has spilled the beans on the movie directed by A Venkatesh and the different types of roles he is doing in it.

“I am appearing in five contrast looks in this film. One of them includes the get up of Kamal Haasan in ‘Nayagan’. The others are that of Hrithik Roshan in ‘Krish’ and Depp in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’”, he says.

On the film, he says, “It is a full-fledged commercial entertainer like ‘Giri’ and ‘Maruthamalai’. Venkatesh knows the pulse of the audience well and he has once again come out with a convincing film in all aspects”.

Arjun, who is currently acting in ‘Meikaan’ and ‘Maasi’, says: “Both the films have meaty roles for me to perform. I am happy that I am able to stay successful in Kollywood for decades now. Thanks to everyone”.

Arjun is playing five characters in Vallakottai movie

Action King Arjun is trying his skills in donning multiple characters in a single film. Inspired by Kamal Haasan in 'Dasavatharam', Arjun is playing five characters in his upcoming movie 'Vallakottai'.

A dark labourer, Anjeneya and a Red India are important three. Director Venkatesh says Arjun has handled the different get ups very professionally and assures the audience will like them.

‘Vallakottai ‘was to have been completed days ago but was delayed because of the death of Murali. Venkatesh said that they were ready to can the final fight sequence at the Binny Mills when they heard the bad news about Murali. They stopped the shooting as soon as they heard the news and resumed it just a couple of days ago. With that the entire shooting for ‘Vallakottai’ is complete.

Director Venkatesh further said the movie will hit the theatres in October and he has committed to do another film with Action King Arjun as his next. Action-Action matches again.

Actress Sneha has high spirits with Vande Mataram

Actress Sneha was hardly in the news recently due to the influx of new faces, but she is back on the forefront of Kollywood with her next big budget bilingual (Tamil-Malayalam) Vande Mataram with mega stars Arjun and Mammooty. The actress is banking on the movie to regain the ground she lost in Kollywood. Vande Mataram, an action thriller with Arjun and Mammootty playing cops, fighting terrorists who infiltrate into South India, is scheduled to release on September 10th.

Arjun has done Police role in Maasi

Arjun is one Kollywood hero who has always been enjoying widespread popularity. He appears as the rule-enforcing police officer in most of his films and dances with a dozen dazzling girls. Over the years, Arjun has carefully maintained his screen mantra. Needless to say, audiences just love to see him in his trademark roles.

Maasi, his upcoming cop tale is directed by Kiccha of Bhavani IPS fame and produced by K.S. Kovai Mani under Anbu Lakshmi Films banner. Hema and newcomer Archana play the female leads. The star cast includes Mayilsamy, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Pandu, Ponambalam, Dhool Shakuntala and Pradeep Ravath Singh of Ghajini fame.

Recently, Arjun pulled off a very risky stunt for Maasi; this scene, which required him to perform some daring fight sequences with Ponambalam, was shot in Chennai. Sources say there are some unusual stunts performed by the actor without a body double. Arjun plays the role of a sincere police officer who fights the system in his own way. Director Kiccha has also penned the story, screenplay and dialogues for the film.

Manisha Koirala's wedding date is June 19th

Manisha Koirala is all set to marry Nepal-based businessman Samrat Dahal on June 19th, says sources. The actress is eagerly awaiting the release of her next film Ek Second Jo Zindagi Badal De, which is directed by Partho Gosh, on June 4th.

According to sources close to the actress, she would prefer to shuttle between India and Nepal after the wedding as she has homes in both the countries.

Manisha had acted in scores of Hindi films and was seen in a couple of Tamil films alongside popular heroes like Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Arjun and Arvind Swamy.

Arjun's next project Vallakottai

Vallakottai is the title of the next film for which Arjun will don the greasepaint. An excited Arjun says that he plays the role of a superman for the first time. He has taken extra efforts to make this role a grand success and has imported make-up kits for best results.

The film is directed by A Venkatesh and produced by Raja on behalf of ESK Films. Haripriya plays the female lead in Vallakottai. Other stars in the cast include Suresh, Vincent Ashokan, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Ganja Karuppu. Music for this film will be scored by Dhina.

Vande Matharam releases on this summer

Producer Henry who earned a name for himself with quality films like ‘Marumalarchi and Pudhumaipithan’ is back after some gap.

With help from his genuine friends like Mammootty and Arjun, producer Henry is back in action and is reviving his earlier planned ‘Aruvadai’ renaming it ‘Vande Matharam’. Good friends Mammootty and Arjun are lending full support to the producer.

With a big star cast of Mammootty, Arjun and Sneha, ‘Vande Matharam’ is in its post production stages.

The film is a bilingual made in Tamil and Malayalam and directed by Aravinda Raj after a long time. Aravinda Raj turned Tamil film industry to technology with well made films like ‘Oomai Vizhigal’ and ‘Senthoora Poove’ in the eighties.

‘Vande Matharam’ analyses farmers struggle and related terrorism and puts forward an amicable solution to have lasting peace. In the story Mammootty and Arjun play police officers and Sneha plays a woman pilot.

The film will ignite high level of patriotic fervor with its hard hitting dialogues, says Henry. Another highlight of the film will be a patriotic song penned by Vairamuthu to the tune of Imman. The song is rendered by ten popular singers and is sure to create waves.
