Karthika says that Danny Boyle didn't offer herk
There were reports that Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle invited Josh fame Karthika (yesteryear actress Radha's daughter) to appear for a screen test to feature in his next Indo-British production, after he was deeply impressed by her performance in Lenin Rajendran's period film Makaramanju (Malayalam), starring Santosh Sivan as Raja Ravi Varma.
Talking about it during an interview to a leading newspaper, Karthika said that the reports were untrue. "Santoshji told me that Danny Boyle saw Makaramanju and was impressed with my performance in a dual role (as Raja Ravi Varma's muse and Goddess Urvasi). But the news that he called me and offered me a role are just rumours," she said.
About her new Tamil film Ko, starring Jiiva, she said: "My character Renuka is an investigative journalist in the print media, who, with the help of her photographer (played by Jiiva), gets a scoop which leads to problems. It is a beautiful entertainer with great songs by Harris Jayaraj. My favourite is a song we shot in Norway. Ko is definitely going to be a huge hit and I'm sure this will be my big ticket to stardom."
