3 Idiots to start on February 7th, 2011 with Ilayathalapathy Vijay

The much awaited news regarding Vijay joining 3 Idiots remake has been confirmed and he will be joining the team of 3 Idiots on February 7th, 2011. The shooting has started last week without any buzz with the other lead actors.

On the first day of sets Vijay will be doing a song alongside of Ileana, which was already composed by music director Harris Jayraj. Meanwhile Shankar will be canning important scenes with Ileana, Jeeva, Srikanth, Omi Vaidya and Sathyaraj. After topping the headlines for many times it’s finally Vijay who has been locked as a lead actor for this project.

And coming to reason of Suriya walking out of the project is Suriya’s condition regarding his remuneration and dubbing rights. The rumor in Kollywood is that Suriya has asked for a remuneration of Rs 12 crore and also the Telugu dubbing rights, which are Rs 8to Rs 10 Crore as per today’s market price. Gemini Film Circuits was on a step back as they hold the dubbing rights for Telugu and are in plans to do with Tollywood Prince Mahesh Babu.

Talks between director Shankar and Suriya have broke down as the actor is firm on Telugu dubbing rights. So directed Shankar is back to his first option Vijay.

Shruti Haasan to pair up with Jr.NTR?

Young Telugu superstar Jr. NTR's proposed film Gharjana under the direction of Boyapati Srinu is likely to star Vogue beauty Shruti Haasan as the heroine.

Though there were reports that actress Trisha would be the heroine, it is now heard that the makers are considering Shruti Haasan, whose last release was Anaganaga O Dheerudu.

Nadunisi Naaygal release delayed again

Gautham Vasudev Menon, along with his producers Kumar, Madan and Venkat, has jointly taken a decision to push the release of 'Nadunisi Naaygal' by a week.

The psychological thriller starring Veera and Sameera Reddy in lead roles, which was originally to hit the screens on February 11, is now slated for a February 18th release.

With 'Thoonga Nagaram' and 'Yudham Sei' releasing on February 4, the team believes it is healthy for the industry if all films have a good run at the box office and that a February 18 release will allow for breathing space between films, said a press release.

In an industry which is known for its extreme competitiveness, this comes as a positive sign and as a gesture of goodwill among producers.

Popular Punjabi actress Navneet Kaur, who has worked in a number of Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malyalam movies, will marry Ravi Rana, a politician and independent MLA from Badnera Constituency in Maharashtra, in the world's largest mass marriage to be held at Amravati’s Science Core grounds on February 2.

The legislator told reporters that about 2834 couples from different communities will also take wedding vows, creating a world record for the largest mass marriage. "They include visually challenged, handicapped, tribals as well as minorities," he added.

Bollywood star Jacqueline Fernandez who has replaced Mallika Sherawat in ‘Murder 2' says she is ready to shed her clothes if the role demands it.

"Of course, otherwise why are you an actor," said Jacqueline when asked is she would be ready to shed her inhibitions if the script demands.

"Why are you an actor if you are not going to give your whole to a role. Otherwise don't be an actor that's what I think," said Jacqueline while talking to reporters at the sidelines of ‘Let's Design season -3' programme in Kolkata.

"Murder-2" is as a sequel of the 2004 movie ‘Murder' - which had steamy scenes and was one of the hits of 2004.

"I don't know why people are actors when they are not ready to do it. If you are an actor you should be ready to do it. I am a serious actor and I am ready to do it for a character," said the 26- year old actress.

Jacqueline had earlier worked in ‘Aladin' and ‘Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai' opposite Ritesh Deshmukh. Her acting in ‘Aladin' had earned her International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) award and Stardust award for best female debut in 2010.

Vinnaithaadi Varuvaayaa hindi remake to start on April 4th 2011

After much speculation, ace director Gautham Vasudeva Menon is all set to begin the Hindi remake of his latest Tamil hit Vinnaithaadi Varuvaayaa on April 4, 2011. The film will be jointly produced by IN Entertainment (Part of Hinduja Group) and Gautham Menon's Photon Kathaas. Oscar winning musician A.R. Rahman will compose music for the Hindi version too.

Prateik Babbar (son of yesteryear Bollywood hero Raj Babbar) and Amy Jackson will play the lead roles in Hindi. M.S. Prabhu is the cinematographer and Javed Akthar will write the lyrics and screenplay. "We are sticking to the original version; Amy will be playing the role of Jessy, the Malayalee Syrian Christian girl. A.R. Rahman has already given me three tracks. As of now, we are sticking to the original Tamil tunes but Rahman and Javed saab will take a final call if anything different has to be worked out for the Hindi audiences," Gautham Menon was quoted as saying. The film is expected to grace theatres by July 2011.

Mahesh Babu to pair up with Shruti Haasan

The hot and happening actress of Tollywood, Shruti Haasan will soon be pairing opposite prince Mahesh Babu in his next flick The Business Man, with the tagline Guns Don’t Need Agreement. Shruti, who recently debuted in Tollywood with Anaganga O Dheerudu earned her enough fans across A.P, for her looks and performance.

Director Puri Jagannadh has approached Shruti for the film The Business Man and Shruti is said to have given her nod for the film. The movie is being produced by Venkat under R.R. Movie Makers banner.

Bollywood beauty Shazahn Padamsee speaks about her father

Shazahn Padamsee managed to win praise from director Madhur Bhandarkar and her "Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji" co-star Ajay Devgn, but says it is difficult to impress her "perfectionist" father, theatre veteran Alyque Padamsee.


"My dad is my biggest critic. It is very tough to impress him... he is such a perfectionist!" Shazahn said over phone from Mumbai.

However, the 22-year-old feels her father provides constructive criticism and she has learnt to takes his comments in her stride.

"When I have to go out, and I ask him - 'Dad, how am I looking?', he just nods. He is never like 'wow' or 'stunning' the way others compliment me. My dad is very strict and critical and I understand that he does it because he wants the best for me. I really appreciate that about my dad.

"It's nice to have a dad who is in this profession, who knows what acting is, who knows what good films are... he has a great taste in cinema and it's really good to have someone who can give intelligent opinions about the kind of films I should do and what look suits me. I go to him for a lot of advice and I believe it's always the correct thing to do," she said.

Theatre is in Shazahn's blood and she enjoys the medium, but Bollywood is what enamours her most.

"My main focus is Bollywood. I do enjoy theatre, but honestly there's no time. I love doing plays, but it takes way too long to develop them. Doing theatre is a way of life... you go and rehearse from 10 a.m.-10 p.m., have chai (tea), work at your own pace... it is an art form and very personal. So unless there's time, it's tough. But right now, films is what excites me. Nevertheless, when I have some time, I would love to do theatre," she said.

Shazahn was seen on the big screen in "Rocket Singh - Salesman Of The Year" and in just released "Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji", she is seen as a 21-year-old bank intern June Pinto, who charms a much-older senior colleague, played by Ajay.

She does not want to be choosy at such an early stage in her career.

"I am very new and I can't really sit on a high pedestal and start demanding the kind of stuff I want. God willing, I will be there one day because I know I am very ambitious. But right now, the reality is that I am a newcomer. I am getting good offers as of now, and I do want roles that I can relate to and would be happy to do roles to which I can bring something unique."

A R Murugadoss says no to remake am Arivu in Hindi

Earlier, a section of the media speculated that director A.R. Murugadoss will remake his ongoing project 7am Arivu (which has Suriya and Shruti Haasan in the lead) in Hindi with Shahid Kapur. But the director has now denied the news, saying, "A call on remaking or dubbing the film will be taken after we finish the original." Coimbatore district administration refused for 7am Arivu shooting

The Coimbatore district administration refused to give permission for shooting of Suriya’s forthcoming film 7am Arivu. Director AR Murugadoss planned to shoot the film near check dam surrounded by a forest. But the Coimbatore administration said no for the shoot followed by the protest raised by environmental activists.

Sources reveal that the unit has erected huge sets similar to a palace near the check dam, near by reserve forest. The activists raised protest that the shooting will be polluting the Siruvani River as the material used for the set was plaster of paris. Moreover the location selected by the director is a place where many birds and animals survive in the same place.

The district collector of Coimbatore P.Umanath refused to give the permission for the shoot and asked the unit to remove the lavish sets on the river side with immediate course action.

Madhavan and Neetu Chandra starrer horror film Yavarum Nalam in the recent past received good reviews from the critics and stood as a commercial hit.

First you should get a story that suits us and there should be a good director to direct it. Above all there should be time for us both to join. My brother is busy for two years. So if we get a good story, then we both will act and fulfill the expectation of the audience.
You had worked as an assistant to Manirathnam. How did this experience help you in acting?
I never had the habit of book reading. Only after joining Manirathnam I developed the habit of reading. I cannot write the full script. But I knew how the story in the book will come on the screen. When the director asks me that I should act like that, I understand it and act accordingly.
Does your sister-in-law comment after seeing your films?
When she knew that I was dong police officer role, she sent to the theatre and saw the first show along with audience and enjoyed it. She appreciated my acting through SMSs. She really laughed whole heartedly and enjoyed the film.
Is there any chance for you to join hands with Ameer once again? Does this separation hurt you a lot?
It is a tough job to do a film. Lots of things have happened. I never think about these things. I am very much concentrating on my next step. Apart from this only time should reply.
