Bodyguard to remake in Bollywood

It's confirmed! Popular Malayalam director Siddique's super hit Dileep-Nayantara starrer Bodyguard (2010), being remade in Tamil as Kaavalan with Vijay and Asin in the lead, will be remade in Hindi (with Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles) by Salman Khan’s brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri. The film is to go on floors on December 6.

Notably, this is the third time Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor are coming together after Kyon Ki and Main Aur Mrs. Khanna. Apparently, Atul Agnihotri initially approached Katrina Kaif for the female lead, but she could accept the project due to prior commitments and date problems.

When asked why he chose Salman-Kareena pair, who could not deliver a single hit so far, Atul quipped: "It all depends on the film and how the audience takes to it. Why blame a pair for its failure? Besides, they may be third time lucky with my film." Since Eid has proven to be lucky for Salman Khan’s films, the producer wishes to release Bodyguard during the Eid weekend next year.
