annual Sujatha awards winners

Uyirmmai Publishing House and Sujatha Trust have announced the winners of the annual Sujatha awards last week. The awardees for 2010 under six categories are Kalapriya (Prose), Jayandan (short story), Ramesh Prethan (poetry), M. Kamuthirai (novel), Dr. G. Sivaraman (little magazine), Leka (internet). Writers Prapanjan, Indira Parthasarathy, Gnanakoothan, Vasanthi, Dilipkumar and S. Ramakrishnan were the members of the panel which selected the awardees. The award is a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a citation.

The Sujatha award is to be presented at Deveneya Paavanar Arangam, 735, LLA building, Anna Salai) on 3rd May, which is the birth anniversary of writer Sujatha. Actor R. Parthiban, director Balu Mahendra, Prof. K. Gnanasambandan, writers Charu Niveditha, Tamizhachi Thangapandian, Manushya Puthiran and others are gracing the occasion.
