Kakki Chattai will remake in Malayalam
Legendary actor Kamal Haasan's 1985 super hit Kakki Sattai (also spelt Kakki Chattai) will be remade in Malayalam by director Pramod Pappan and producer Jagadeesh Chandran under the banner of Kichu Films.
South India's chocolate hero Prithviraj will step into the shoes of Kamal Haasan as the lead actor in the remake. Kamal Haasan played the role of an undercover cop in the original, which was produced by Sathya Movies and directed by the renowned Rajashekhar.
According to sources, though the plot is similar to the original, Rajesh Jayaram is working on the script to make it relevant to present times. It is noteworthy that Kakki Sattai was partially remade in Telugu by Puri Jaganath as Pokiri, which was remade in Tamil as Pokkiri and then in Hindi as Wanted starring Salman Khan.
