Diwali 2010 Tamil cinema releases


Diwali, the festival of lights, is a much celebrated occasion throughout India every year. To make the festive season more sweet, the Indian film industry also contributes its share by releasing films of superstars during this season. And this year, as many as six film are slated for Diwali release (November 5, 2010). Here is the list:
>>> Suriya-Vivek Oberoi starrer Rattha Charitiram, directed by Ram Gopal Varma, a condensed version of RGV's Rakht Charitra 1 and Rakht Charitra 2, narrates the life story of Paritala Ravi, prime suspect in many murders.


>>> Dhanush-Genelia starrer Uthama Puthiran is a remake of Telugu blockbuster Ready, (starring Ram and Genelia). Directed by Mithran Jawahar, this big budget film is produced by Balaji Studios Pvt. Ltd. Bhagyaraj, Vivek and Karunas play prominent roles.


>>> Arya-Shriya starrer Chikku Bukku is a city-based love story directed by Manikandan. The film has Arya playing Arjun, a chocolate boy who can make girls’ hearts flutter, and Shriya playing Anu, a bubbly girl.
>>> S.P. Charan-Lekha Washington-Siva starrer Va Quarter Cutting directedby Pushkar and Gayatri has already created a lot of buzz in the industry with their innovative teasers. The movie happens in one night (6.30 p.m. to 6.30 a.m.). It's a journey of two characters (Shiva and S.P. Charan) through this one night and the people they meet.
>>> Arjun-Haripriya starrer Vallakotai directed by A. Venkatesh is an action thriller while Prabhu Solomon's Mynaa, starring Amala Paul and Vidharth, is about the travails of a driver subjected to various hardships in the hilly terrains where he operates.
