But looks like that apart from its bold theme, the film has one more interesting thing. “Its for the first time in Tamil cinema that a body painting scene has been filmed,” says Rukmangadhan.
The scene was shot recently in a bungalow in the city with just the unit members and Komolika. The scene shows the heroine wearing only body paint and jeans in a shot where she is being painted upon by an artist. The scene is a crucial one in the film.
Komolika, who has acted in two Bengali movies, has won a beauty pageant in Kolkata and has done some modeling earlier, is also now acting in a Hindi movie Yeh Ishq Nahin Aasan. This is her Tamil debut.
On being asked how comfortable she was during the shoot and how she agreed for the scene she says, “I am wearing body paint so it’s not a nude scene or anything. I am happy to be part of such a pioneering move in films. It’s the first time such a scene is being canned and it’s a new concept so I am very happy to be a part of it. I am not nervous about it as its part of the script. I don’t think it’s been done in any vulgar way. The unit made me feel very comfortable.”
The entire body painting was done by three artists and took around three hours to complete. The shot was canned in half and hour and the entire shooting was for one day only.
The film will be releasing in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam. The story, script, direction, production, music and dialogues are by JV Rukmangadhan.
